Dr Thirteenth by Adam Hargreaves – Graham and Ryan Dr Thirteenth by Adam Hargreaves – Yaz An Explosive Birthday Surprise! As this story was written before the Thirteenth Doctor’s first series hit our screens, it sadly isn’t able to make reference to this Doctor’s adventures in the same way as the previous Doctor Who /Mr Men books have. I’ve never watched the original series, but I did see William Hartnell in the tenth anniversary episodes with Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee. The book also introduces us to Yaz, Graham, and Ryan’s Mr Men counterparts, which are just as sweet and instantly recognisable. Since then, Hargreaves has given every Doctor (excluding John Hurt’s War Doctor) the Mr Men treatment, with brilliant success.

Unfortunately we got to this book last before my sister came to pick her up and I have not had a chance to read it to her since.Spring 2017 will see four books in a new range which sees the Doctor’s regenerations imagined in the style of Roger Hargreaves, creator of the Mr. Over the years, the Cybermen battled the Time Lord time and again – and almost every time with a shiny new upgrade. With that being said I don’t know if the First Doctor is always grumpy, but overall it is an adorable book which demonstrates who much he loves his grandaughter, even if he doesn’t show it.
