As the characters follow a well-developed story arc, it’s impossible not to be drawn into their lives. It was a lovely gentle romantic read based on Eden, Levan and Edens family who I loved, especially Iris her grandmother. Levan makes a memorable appearance, as he indulges in a headstand, in his neighbouring garden, while wearing a pair of bright orange speedos.

Learning about how to roast coffee beans was fascinating and I swear I could smell the coffee whilst reading. Then of course, there’s the hot next door neighbor who moves in, Levan, and changes their lives completely, especially Eden’s. Since this a romance, I must say that the two destined for love are wonderfully suited for each other and I loved being on their journey to a happily ever after. I loved Eden, and I so much wanted her life to continue on the upward spiral she has found for herself, after a failed marriage to a complete and utter git! The stories about the lighthouse keepers were interesting and something I’d never really thought about before, or indeed given much thought about and I found their experiences really interesting to learn about.

The characterisation is so in-depth, and the family connections, so solid - despite the secrets held deeply within. Friendships are enhanced and with everyone’s help and encouragement they make such a difference to the life of so many of the characters. The setting of the Cornish seaside as well as the lighthouse’s history was beautiful and fascinating at the same time. A wonderfully romantic summery read based in the most picturesque setting of cornwall, you are instantly transported there and actually feel as if you are on holiday!

The writing is so descriptive, I could almost hear the waves crashing on the rocks as I was reading. The main characters of Eden and Levan are well written, and I look forward to the author's next book. I just seem to devour her books once I start reading them because they are so easy to get into and to read.Phillipa Ashley has once again created an immersive book that captured my imagination from the earliest pages. After her life in London ends in disaster, Eden moves back to Cornwall to live with the mother Sally in the lighthouse cottage she grew up in. I really felt for Eden with all that she had been through, but Levan has his own issues that are gradually revealed during the book. After being betrayed by her husband she has to re-evaluate her life and move back in with her mother.
