Description

In school, I never really understood the letters on graphite pencils but for a long time, I haven't even heard about F pencils. These lines often need to be refined and erased, so the soft lines of a hard pencil often work best in those cases. These pencils are very flexible and can bend easily without breaking, and as they are extruded by machine, they do not have a seam or a grain. They contain a medium-high number of binders in their lead core which makes them not too hard to erase or to smudge but not too easy as well.

However, it smudges fairly easily and is a lot more abrasive on your paper than the graphite pencil, and is a lot more brittle. We offer you extensive information about the history of art, analyses of famous artworks, artist biopics, information on architecture, literature, photography, painting, and drawing. If your drawing requires different types of marks, then an H pencil would come in handy for producing lighter lines and values. The more graphite that it contains, the softer and darker the pencil, but when there is a larger portion of clay, the pencil becomes harder and lighter. Castell 9000 Graphite Pencils are available in all 16 degrees of hardness: 8B, 7B, 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B, 2B, B, HB, F, H, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, and 6H. Since the highest number on the B-grade pencils is 9, it means that 9B is the softest and darkest graphite pencil and they are great pencils for darkest shades.

In the same vein, a 3H pencil can produce fine lines or detailed work similar to that of a 4H pencil. This grade of a pencil is best used for sketching pencil types and drawing as it leaves very dark prominent lines on your paper, making perfectly visible marks and lines on your drawing sheet. pencil lead is slightly softer than 6H, but the differences between it and even 9H lead are still quite small.

The letters H, F, HB, and B are used to represent the texture of a graphite pencil in the grading structure. The pencil is effective when the lead is wet with some saliva and then applied to the paper, leaving a permanent or indelible mark. The B-grade pencils can produce darker lines than the F and H-grade pencils, and you can easily erase the lines without putting in much effort. In 1802, the production of graphite leads from graphite and clay was patented by the Koh-I-Noor company in Vienna. Pioneered by Taiwanese stationery manufacturer Bensia Pioneer Industrial Corporation in the early 1970s, Pop a Point Pencils are also known as Bensia Pencils, stackable pencils or non-sharpening pencils.
