Winter is also the time when we repair ditches and hedgerows, which are so important to biodiversity. Run by a family who have been farming potatoes, maize and rye in beautiful East Anglia for 3 generations.

Throughout a tough period for everyone, we’ve been so pleased to see our sales grow and we put a lot of that down to the personal touch. Potatoes, Vegetable Oil (Sunflower, Rapeseed Oil - in varying proportions), Sugar, Rice flour, Tomato Powder, Salt, Onion Powder, Yeast Extracts, Citric Acid, Natural Flavourings, Smoked Maltodextrin, Paprika Extract. We really do believe we have a duty here; with the country’s self-sufficiency dropping year on year it’s all the more important that the land is put to efficient – and environmentally sympathetic – use. Absolutely everything takes place on the family farm, from digging up and hand selecting the quality of the potatoes used, to washing, slicing, cooking and bagging at the on-site factory. Robert and Laura’s venture has been rewarded with numerous Great Taste Awards and accolades for true local provenance.

We’ve always worked really closely with the East of England Co-op, and this year has been no exception. Made with homegrown potatoes from the family farm which make a great base for this moreish, meaty flavour of roast rib of beef. The traditional potato crisps have proved so successful that the Strathern’s have also branched out into vegetable crisp production as well, including parsnip crisps flavoured with Essex honey and black pepper.
