Description

Taste An intense burst of fresh aroma and natural sweetness, followed by a full-bodied botanical foundation and beautifully balanced juniper end. Inspired by the traditional sundowner experience after a day out in the African bush, Elephant Gin is produced for wildlife adventures and urban explorers alike. The gin’s distinct nose first yields a subtle juniper aroma, with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes. But it is not only the product in the loving packaging that makes the brand Elephant Gin simply likeable: With 15% of the proceeds Elephant Gin supports the Big Life Foundation as well as Space for Elephants and thus also does good for the protection of species of pachyderms in Africa.

While its story started in South Africa, Elephant Gin is handmade in Germany with focus on the highest production standards and use of high-quality botanicals, including rare African ingredients to create the gin's distinctive flavour profile. The Elephant Strength bottle takes inspiration from its naval origins with navy blue accents and an inviting map of the ocean, conjuring far-flung exploration and the spirit of adventure at the heart of the brand. Although produced in Germany, the gins are an extraordinary tribute to the continent of Africa: in addition to more classic herbs, roots and fruits, African botanicals such as cassis and lion's tail are used. With a vision to conserve the wildlife they feel so passionately for, they decided to launch a product that would help conservation trusts. The gin's nose yields a subtle juniper aroma with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes.Legend has it that the bark of the fever tree was first used by the Spanish in the early 1630s where the healing properties of the tree were discovered. With each bottle of this herbal, fruity and spicy gin sold, Elephant Gin will donate 15% of their profits to elephant conservation charities which makes the gin taste even better. Having been able to give over half a million euros to African elephant conservation projects over the last six years and making a difference to on the ground is something we are most proud of. To create a lightly sweet, delicate and floral gin and tonic, why not use a slice of apple as a garnish?

of bottle profits or 2% of revenue, whichever is larger, is donated to various projects protecting Elephants in the wild.Botanicals: 14 including juniper, devil's claw, buchu, baobab, lion's tail, wormwood, apple, pine needles, lavender, sweet orange peel, ginger, pimento berries, elderflower.

They're perfectly balanced, and the traditional copper pot still distillation method by which they become Elephant Gin brings out their individual flavours excellently. The Strength encompasses twice the quantity of botanicals and a focus on the extraordinary African buchu, sweet orange peel and herbaceous mountain pine. The taste is complex but strikingly smooth, encompassing floral, fruity and spicy flavours, which can be enjoyed both straight and in a cocktail.

All of this combines to give Elephant Gin the romantic impression that it wouldn't look out of place on board the HMS Beagle. If you like classic gin like Bombay, Tanquery - you won't be disappointed but probably not amazed either. The gin is powerful (think elephant-powerful), intense and full-bodied, with a fresh aroma and a higher viscosity than the original; superb in cocktails, it’s equally perfect for recreating the African bush Sundowner experience and for bold adventures across urban plains. The gin's distinct nose first yields a subtle juniper aroma, with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes. If the gin had at least 57% ABV, then it surely survived the test and was proclaimed of navy strength.Elephant London Dry Gin is a handcrafted premium gin made from a blend of 14 botanicals combining rare African ingredients with fresh apples.
