This was the last book In the Julia Donaldson series I brought my grandson , they love them and are so well illustrated … as is this one . Axel Scheffler has achieved worldwide acclaim for his humorous illustrations, which are published in over 30 countries.The only difficult bit is the fact that the images contain text such as a leaflet or news paper article so it had to be explained that it wasn't part of the story. A show aimed at two-year olds would have some differences – those shows are carefully made to hold their attention for the duration, and not to be unsettling for them. But the publisher thought that would be too complicated, and Axel has done a great job making each book look different. She was the UK Children’s Laureate 2011–13 and has been honoured with a CBE for Services to Literature.
