It’s a fun game that people get a bit excited about, and I think it’s a great game for any collection. The Dice Game is a 3-8 player western style shout out between the good guys (the Sheriff and his Deputies) and the bad guys (the Outlaws and the Renegades). The theme makes sense with the gameplay and overall it makes the game very accessible which means, coupled with the relatively short play time, it is a lot easier to get to the table. The dice are chunky and substantial feeling, with large brightly coloured symbols that are easy to see from any distance. For those with a physical impairment connected to a communication impairment, it will become more difficult to precisely indicate what actions are to be taken but not enough to really make much of a difference.

Mod 1 - Dice are different from the each other and represent a loudmouth and a coward, you can choose one of these dice at the start of your turn and it'll replace one of those you have already.There’s player elimination too in Bang The Dice Game, although individual rounds play out quickly enough that it’s not really that much of an issue. Social deduction games really need to permit ways for that deduction to make itself known and Bang… does a poor job of that. Or perhaps more accurately, implication seeps into the game and you can do a lot with that in a game designed around social interaction. The counterpoint is that it’s very difficult for players to do this with the kind of insinuating insistence you’ll see in other games. Player identities are indicated only on cards, but the powers each player is dealt are pretty straightforward and they only rarely impact on the complexity of managing the dice.

I believe that any dice game succeeds or fails largely on the basis of whether it's exciting to roll the dice, and here Bang! If a player collects a trio of Gatling symbols on the dice, he fires one shot at everyone else and rids himself of Indian tokens. It does a surprisingly good job of referencing the main tropes and actions of its card predecessor, while offering it all up in a quick-playing and simplified format.

As sheriff you still have to bring the outlaws to heel, as outlaws you still have to stop the law and as renegades you still want to be the last alive, only now the Indians want you all dead too! If you take the last arrow token, all players discard their arrow tokens and take one point of damage per arrow token. Players will also be dealt a character card that grants the player special abilities to be used in the game. Most likely, each person will have their favorite characters that they think are the best, but these are the ones that I think may be a bit too strong.
