Interestingly, it wasn't just in the opening, the lemon pledge smell never went away for the duration of its life span and despite my attempts to live with it, I just couldn't. Although the opening still is intense I find that it, along with the rest of the fragrance, grows on you alot. I also have creed Aventus but actually use club di nuit intense (pure parfum) more as I know it lasts most of the day, and the last few batches of Aventus I've had don't. An hour after applying, a classmate said she could smell me on an elevator i was on at least 5-8 minutes before her.

The opening of Aventus is my absolute favorite, and this is about 65% similar to to it, the biggest drawback is the “lemon pledge” smell everyone talks about in the opening.A hugely popular fresh masculine fragrance from Armaf which has gained a big following among online fragrance enthusiasts.

Performance is slightly below average - not terrible but less than outstanding considering its parfum concentration.

If you wanna experience something very close to the better of the later Aventus batches that nipped at the toes of its best older batches, this one is your shot. Recently bought some Aventus travel sprays from Neiman Marcus, and I actually enjoy CDNIM-PP much better. I love Aventus and grew a little frustrated with its poor longevity in recent batches and thought this might satisfy my love for Aventus without the cost. I'm not a delicate person with a delicate sophisticated nose yet I do know what I like and this works great for me.
