A Scaffold song that is both catchy as fuck and also has the simplicity of a kids tune is “Gin Gan Goolie. Working almost exclusively as a trio under the name the Scaffold from 1964, Gorman, McGear and McGough performed a mixture of comic songs, comedy sketches and the poetry of McGough (as evidenced on their 1968 live album), and they released a number of singles and albums on Parlophone and EMI between 1966 and 1971, with several more on Island, Warner Bros.

McGear has been beautifully repackaged by Esoteric, with extra tracks, outtakes and rare singles (but, sadly, no sign of No Lar Di Dar Is Lady Di, McGear’s 1981 tribute to the future Princess Of Wales), and whether you believe, like some, that it’s “the great lost Wings album” or just that it’s a superb piece of work by an artist with an underrated track record, it’s a fantastic album that everyone in the world should own. And that’s why, when our kid launched his first Wings in London, I was having a wee and this lad comes in and says, ‘Hi, Mike.I like the contribution regarding the Aintree Ironworks, makers of cast iron urinals, indeed many after taking a visit might have reason to say 'Thank you very much for the Aintree Iron'. I don't think I could make a Dairylea sandwich last more than a few seconds, even if I concentrated really hard. I once went to a supermarket in Liverpool on business, and as I got out of the car noticed that the building next door was surrounded by a 12ft security fence topped off with barbed wire and razor ribbon. as the one about the local music venue/meeting place sounds the most plausible for the time and era, I'd go with that!

Our kid said, ‘Don’t do that…’”The Aintree Iron is a line that has had many explanations, many of them quite unsavoury and attached to famous people. He's mentioned in the song, but subliminaly rather than directly by name, because if he had found out they were singing about him, he'd have gone nuts and battered the lot of them.I think the truth of the matter is that the author himself has not decided what it is and likes to keep us all guessing! The ad that flashed up at the top of the page of the lyrics by The Scaffold asked ‘Need to hire scaffolding? There was a lot of speculation as to what this meant when Scaffold included it in "Thank you very much". In this series of informative five-minute programmes, titled Decimal Five and shown on BBC1, their songs included such relevant lyrics as "Give more, get change" and "Use your old coppers in sixpenny lots".

This gallery is dedicated to some of the best fiction and nonfiction portraying one of the greatest cities in the world. Blood composition is a good indicator of health in the horse and camel due to its role as a transportation system, carrying nourishment, vital substances, gases and waste material.

In the early 60's many people in Aintree had no money for the electricity metre until the weekly pay packet came home so the young lads took their trousers to Angela,"the Aintree Iron" to get them pressed for a Friday night.
