However, I’d argue that it’s not really needed, the dark blue doesn’t really fit the street so you could easily replace it with tan ones. In 2007, along with the first modular Café Corner, Market Street was released under the Lego Factory banner. Right now I can’t figure out whether Market Street was designed before Café Corner (thus inspiring the entire series) or after it as a response.

There's not much to suggest 'market' other than a couple of crates of fruit and veg (including an early example of nice parts usage in a set: a green Exo-Force hair piece as a cabbage) and a croissant sign hanging outside the house. They are their own independent collection that happens to use the same method of connecting the individual sets that make it up. As we saw with the Green Grocer, all of the minifigures shared parts with other pre-existing figures.

Interesting to note that there seems to be a very small (but noticeable) slit below the stud on the 1x1 brick with headlight. However, I did have a bunch of medium blue laying around, after taking apart Seaside House and replacing the colour in Medieval Market Village. But Market Street never interested me, I always thought the design and layout and the way interaction would be possible with other buildings looked amateurish, despite having regards to the more limited palette of parts available then.

Finding the correct white ones that are not yellowed was a hassle 10 years ago, god knows how hard it is now. However, the few clear doors that we get do not show the bubbles that almost all did in the Caf Corner. The first floor is sits up a few bricks (hence the curved staircase outside to get up to it) and covers the height basement. Another interesting detail not mentioned in the review is that since Erik Brok felt some builders may not care for the very Dutch-inspired stepped gable roof, he designed the set so the sloped roof could be rotated to face the street for an "international style" building, or swapped with the flat roof of the market/arcade for a more American-style building. The high front of the building features plenty of decorations, the stepped roof and the iron anchors holding it together. As far as details yes the lack of interior builds is missing bu t the build it self has some very unique build techniques, spiral staircase for one, and basement. I also had some gates from a Castle set, a spare lion head from Chima, and various other bits and pieces. figured this would be a thread about somebody who struck gold at a yard sale or was doing retro reviews.
