It started with an Auction where the kids discover an old civil war helmet which starts glowing, or something to the limit of the LWT effects department. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. After dressing as a frankly alarming bat at the world’s worst fancy-dress party (where everyone else, for licensing reasons, is clad not as a character from films or books but as unidentifiable horrors from a Ray Bradbury nightmare), she decides to exorcise the demon ‘Amelia’ from inside Amy – only to promptly be revealed (to no one’s surprise) as the baddie after all. The man was brought back to the castle where he was held for six months, being questioned or tortured. According to the chronicler Ralph of Coggeshall, a naked wild man, covered in hair, was caught in the nets of local fishermen.

The unsettling camera work certainly helps but the narrative weaving of innocent pastimes like playing scrabble into something far more sinister is highly effective.Like many of the Spooky episodes – and indeed a lot of the Dramarama stories – the acting of the young leads is a little “stage schooly” but it’s unlikely that its young target audience would have noticed, instead being drawn into the drama. Peter's hobby is to gather evidence of hauntings, and he hopes to have more luck here than he has hitherto; the outing will be fun, in any case. Set to accompany the highly acclaimed ITV 'Dramarama' plays they are a clever, beautifully produced example of an increasingly fondly remembered mini genre. Episodes comprise: 'War Games With Caroline', 'The Exorcism of Amy', 'The Danny Roberts Show', 'The Ghostly Earl', 'In a Dark, Dark Box', 'The Restless Ghost' and 'The Keeper'.Built sometime between 1165 and 1173 to consolidate Henry II’s power in East Anglia, it’s probably best known these days for its uniquely designed keep but readers with an interest in such matters may know it more from the climax of Witchfinder General (1968). Throughout this they discuss the nature and causes of hauntings, whether it’s people that generate them, the places themselves or a combination of both. The Keeper’, on the other hand, provides moments that are genuinely eerie, even to an adult audience in 2011.
