I just love these monitors, the audio response is great, dynamic and makes mixing editing more accurate. You can also Master as long as you know what your doing and know the room your finishing. I was a longtime NS10 user and they are wonderful monitors and like most speakers a lot depends on the room and the Power Amp used with NS10's. If a room isn't treated or reflections bounce, no matter what monitors will sound so-so? This is where the HS8 monitor come in, after listening to a number of cabinets and spkrs I felt the HS8 were a good fit, if your in more need of crucial listening situations a more expensive monitors are necessary, though again Room Treatment is very important. You can orient these monitors either vertically or horizontally. Its design minimizes noise and diffractions for the clearest and fullest lows, highs, and mids. Form an equilateral triangle with your chosen pair of speakers. You’re going to be the “tip” of the triangle, so measure your distance from them, too. The reduced speaker port vortex is there to reduce noise. Enclosures are from medium density fiberboard, so you’re sure it’ll completely wipe out any unwanted resonance.

Bass response is sharp, spectre seems very flat, they are not boosted at all in any kind of way. It really helped me master the album I was working on for half a year, as soon as I got them. It was impossible to do it with my headphones. The last point of consideration is the type of sound you’re mixing and the audience you’re mixing for. If you’re working in bass-heavy genres like electronic, hip-hop, dance and more, you need as accurate a bass response as you can get. The same goes if you’re mixing for film or TV, where audiences are more likely to have a sub of their own.However, I do have to warn you. If you live in smaller spaces, it’s not ideal for getting this product. You might compromise your listening experience and the music you make as well!

While it’s still possible to use the Hs8 in smaller rooms, it’s designed to work better where it has the space it needs. You might get overwhelmed or complain about the heaviness of low-frequency sounds.
