We may sell, license, transfer, assign or in any other way dispose of the Service (including Members) to any third party without any notification to you, e. Perhaps it’s the boat trip; always seems a very definite departure from the norm (or at least my norm). The holiday’s over; the brief plunge into Arran’s pseudo-reality well and truly in the rearview mirror.

As Lagg is going to bottle their whiskies under the ‘Lagg’ name, it’s likely Machrie Moor will be exiting the scene in the near future. The UK has been put on the banned list of countries we are not allowed to visit from Israel so I cannot get to Scotland at the moment. Of course, a flight of two whiskies is in no way sufficient to generalise about peat and the difference it makes – except for the smoke and ashes which I’d suspect to be everybody’s first guess. Whether that’s for the better or not depends on personal tastes and predilections – ‘Über Geschmack lässt sich nicht streiten. The Service has been prepared by us solely for information purposes to Members and the Service is based on information we consider reliable and we obtain the contents of the Service from a number of different third party sources (including Contributions), but we do not endorse, support, represent, warrant or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of the Services and any information therein.

The Isle of Arran distillers is one of the few remaining independent Scotch producers, and though young in age, has quickly grown into a popular brand among whisky enthusiasts. At Dramface we like to include more than just Scottish perspectives, and everyone benefits from a little variety in their whisky opinions, don’t you think? It reminds us that distilleries are rooted in places, and those places can have deep meaning for people. Not only will you find peat at Machrie Moor, but stone circles too - one of which was apparently used by a giant to tether its dog to. Please use this section to instruct your driver on a specific place to leave the package(s) if the recipient is out, such as ‘If out leave with neighbour’.

Yet, as far as I’m concerned, I’d rather see distilleries getting back to developing a distinct profile for their whisky and spending their efforts on meticulously crafting and maturing a whisky of their own instead of just another range of ‘smooth and mellow’ or ‘smoky and bold’ versions of themselves. It's on my list the next time I get to the UK, please G-d soon when the war is over and all my sons come home safe and sound, Be'ezrat Hashem. Until recently, Machrie Moor had two standard expressions: a NAS version at 46% and another NAS version at cask strength. Further, you shall not circumvent, remove, alter, deactivate, degrade or thwart any of the content protections, decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble the Service and any software related to or used in or by the Service. The shortbread and the chamomile tea of the Arran 10 have been supplanted by the smoke and ashes, and I’m not entirely sure what to make of the Machrie Moor’s rubbery note.Islay whiskies are best-sellers – including Octomore which is almost revered like an icon by some – several Speyside distilleries have added peat to their portfolios, while some of the new distilleries such as Raasay and Torabhaig seem to rely heavily on their ppm as they strive to make a name for themselves. There's certainly pineapple - charred pineapple and a lemony citrus flavour, too on the lengthy finish. We reserve the right to immediately and without prior notice deactivate, suspend and/or terminate your account if you do not abide by the Terms, if you act unlawful, if you do not act or use the Service in good faith, or if you cause any harm whatsoever to the Service, to other Members, to other persons or to us.

If no such law exists in a Member’s country of residence, the Member has to be over 21 years old to use the Service. It wasn't until 1994 when Arran Whisky starting building their distillery in Lochranza at the north end of the island. Let’s start with the similarities so that we can clearly mark out the difference between these two whiskies. The 10 year old bottling is the distillery’s flagship offering and was their first aged released back in 2006 (although it was subject to a new recipe in 2019).Their core range includes a number of aged and no-aged expressions, as well as some cask experimentation. So, both whiskies do have certain things in common, but I would never have guessed they were from the same distillery if I had savoured them in a blind tasting.
