That meant certain cooldowns and combos were further out of reach than usual, requiring some muscle re-training during more intense moments. It's far better than a midrange board, but not quite as fancy (or expensive) as a Corsair K95 and its ilk. I also love the Logitech G LightSync technology which allows to customize individual keys to have its own RGB lighting. Since it's designed for gaming, the G513 has some programmable keys, customization software, RGB backlighting, and a USB passthrough.

Cheaper mechanical keyboards regularly switch out the luxury grip and durability of PBT caps for a more cost-efficient material.

Our biggest pet-peeve of reviewing keyboards with Cherry MX Red is they’re often not good for anything other than gaming and feel terrible to type anything beyond our Steam logins. There weren't any software issues during testing, but many users online have reported various problems trying to use the Logitech G HUB software, including but not limited to startup issues, freezing, and connection issues with some devices. Now, i'm focused on Nintendo Switch, gaming laptops (and the keyboards and mice that come with them), and tracking everything that suggests VR is about to take over our lives. This cable was a real drag on my setup overall and never seemed to settle in one neat position well. The G513 Tacticle and Linear offer great gaming performance and the keyboard itself is very comfortable to use.

Not only that, but under the hood you'll find Logitech's durable GX switches, which manage to evade that scratchy feel sometimes felt in Cherry models that are plugged into the vast majority of decks. It’s still an incredibly compact keyboard made of a rigid plastic frame with a sheet of aircraft-grade 5052 aluminum to serve as its top plate.have a low actuation distance time, thus making them ideal for gamers by delivering much faster gameplay.

Our unit uses Romer-G Tactile switches, which have a small tactile bump right before the actuation point. Additionally, there are various guides to answer frequently asked questions about mechanical keyboards. But the keyboard’s array of function keys do offer media control as well as other secondary actions including a key to cycle lighting effects and brightness, and to switch on a customizable game mode which prevents errant Windows key presses. Aircraft-grade 5052 aluminium top case is anodized and brushed for a slim, premium design plus rigid durability. Only reviews that feature the label "Verified Review" have been checked to ensure that the author actually used or purchased the product.

It’s as bright and vibrant as the illumination that the company has integrated into its higher-end peripherals, and the new LightSync tech will help synchronize lighting effects across your entire gaming setup. G513 is a high performance RGB mechanical gaming keyboard that features advanced technologies in a modern and sleek design. While this board used to be available with Romer-G Tactile and Linear switches, it's now only available at most retailers with GX Blue, Red, and Brown switches. However, the volume of reports online from other users may indicate this issue is more commonly experienced with this keyboard for unknown reasons. Our unit uses Romer-G tactile switches, which offer a small tactile bump and feel like a mushier version of the Cherry MX Brown switches.

The Razer has more extra features, like dedicated media controls and onboard memory, which the Logitech lacks. This makeover brings around a more fully-featured keyboard in a frame that’s just as compact and streamlined as ever before. There are some slight differences in the pre-travel distance and operating force, but it's fairly minor and shouldn't be noticeable to most people. Per-key lighting customization is available, as is a decent amount of lighting presets such as color wave, breathing, ripple effects, and a really cool animation that makes it appear like an ocean wave is lapping across the keyboard.
