I love the theme of self-love and, while I normally prefer more complex or layered poetry, I enjoyed the simpler style Shelby used in this context. There are few Latin American scholars who have been more involved in the churches' mission for so many years and in so many parts of the continent as the author of this book. Her sensitivity comes through in every word-making the reader feel like Shelby isn't only sharing her own personal experiences but is being mindful of the reader's comfort. Her longest collection yet, the book uncovers how our past - past relationships, memories, and ourselves - can haunt us. The game does not have a failed state, though some decisions made by players may damage the ship or cause the ship to lose momentum.
