Seriously, if the author sees this-You have an immense talent for portraying emotion in your stories!I also wanted to see more of the magic system and how it all worked, which i felt didn't get explained enough for me. At first this felt like a fantasy novel with romance, but for a good portion of the middle to early end, it’s solely focused on the romance. And, of course, this book relies heavily on my Least Favorite Writing Technique of All Time: having characters keep secrets from one another for no reason except ~drama. It felt like the author had genuinely experienced every single emotion and knew how to share it with us to perfection. It was not unrealistic that as a mother who was on a rescue mission could still experience romance or comfort and seek adventure.
