I hit a bit of a snag when it came to the skeletons as I had unwittingly painted the stone work in a bone colour, so my usual scheme of Army Painter Skeleton Bone and wash with Strong Tone probably wasn’t going to cut it. Then to really bring out the wood grain, I drybrushed all the wooden parts across the grain with Zandri Dust. DETAILS: Create gloomy, sinister battlefields for Warhammer Age of Sigmar with the Azyrite Ruined Chapel - a set of modular terrain that makes adding ruins to your gaming board simple.

He lives in Craftworld Hamburg, located in the north of Germany, where he walks the Path of the Graphic Designer. We mainly cover Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Age of Sigmar, Warmachine, Hordes, X-Wing, Infinity, Horus Heresy, and Star Wars Armada. As it’s fairly similar and a certain Youtube painters bang on about it I decided to get some Vallejo Model Colour Pale Sand. Consenting to these technologies will allow us to process data such as browsing behavior or unique IDs on this site. This is gone over with a wash of brown-black mud colour (my own concoction) and then drybrushing with kislev flesh. All photographs, images and paint-work that are posted are originals by the author unless indicated otherwise.

The brickwork is a bit flat for our tastes but there is enough detail around it to make it look realistic. And the wood turned out absolutely fantastic, I may have to get more models with wood grain because brushing on Wyldwood contrast is just so dang satisfying. For the wood areas I wanted to keep it simple and let all that wonderful detail in the sculpt do the work for me.My best reading is that each Large wall constitutes an Azyrite Ruin, so each Large Wall piece is 1 Primary pick. This kit is on his paint bench to provide you the full breakdown of what you can expect to find inside.

Alongside the Daughters of Khaine releases, there are also some terrain options that have been released for Age of Sigmar. Jabberjabber will try to respond to most genuine questions posted in the comments, depending on his real life time commitments. This structure was painted last year, but I slightly updated the terrain piece when I painted the bell tower and the other ruin. In hindsight I probably should have used Pale Sand as the rocks would no doubt be part of the broken pillar. Our very own Rob Baer got his hands on the fresh new Azyrite Ruins kit that features the latest in push-fit terrain for Age of Sigmar.Today I share my Azyrite Ruins from the original Warcry starter set, which are also included in the new Catacombs box. Hope you like my approach of painting these Azyrite Ruins, don’t forget to check out Garfy’s tutorial, who painted his ruins closer to the pale green seen on the box art. I find the hexwraith technical paint a very nice product to work with (largely since it does all the work, similar in some ways to the new contrast paints, except it is very livid in colour). All that was left to do was a bit of assembly for the bell tower and I was done, although I did leave the skeletons in cages off as I can see those flimsy chains snapping really easily.
