Description

Harley Quinn Black + White + Red is a seventeen-issue digital-first issue limited series that centers on Harley Quinn in her many interpretations. With this, she inadvertently sends the couple on a path of relationship growth as they try to escape her torture. The artwork is in fact very lovely for most part, especially this Dani person's artwork in Sunshine Getaway, it's very creative, as to the stories, the latter part isn't as great as the beginning part, I supposed.

Die Themen sind dabei gemischt, scheinbar ohne Ordnung - anarchistisch wie die Protagonistin selbst. Best known for penning DC's Birds of Prey, her other notable works include Secret Six, Welcome to Tranquility, The All-New Atom, Deadpool, and Wonder Woman. Auf den über 236 Seiten des Bandes findet der Leser einen bunten Haufen verschiedenster Mini-Abenteuer. Graphic Novels Batgirl (comic) Batgirl and the Birds of Prey: Rebirth (comic) Batman (comic) Batman ’66 (comic) Batman ’66 Meets the Man From U.Batman has gone through many changes over the years, but the core of the character – that he’s a crime fighter driven by the death of his parents – has stayed the same throughout everything. It doesn’t matter if Harley isn’t with the Joker anymore; she’s still no paragon of growth and empowerment. Three all-new short tales of Gotham’s most unpredictable antihero in only black, white, and red ink!

The artwork by Natacha Bustos takes on a YA novel look with simple, yet cute designs for the characters and backgrounds which is fitting for the story. Featuring weekly comic release discussions, creator AMAs, a friendly and helpful userbase, and much more! However, while I didn’t mind this story and found the banter between Ivy, Harley, and Catwoman somewhat appealing, there’s still something off about all of their personalities and interactions. Eisner nominee Zoe Thorogood has Harley recruit seven girls who compete to be her sidekick, but their attempts to be like Harley give her a bit of an identity crisis! There are stories of the silly and kooky Harley Quinn from the core series and the psychotic madwoman found in Suicide Squad.

In addition to the stories, some better, others a little less (this depends on taste), it is nice to observe the various graphic styles presented in this volume, each with different characteristic traits, some more sketchy, others much more fluid. They say that they are inspired by her newfound independence and want to follow in her footsteps, proposing that all of them go on a jewel heist to show the Joker how great they can all be without him. Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red collects chapters 1-17 of the online DC Comics series written by various authors such as Stjepan Šejić, Tim Seely,, Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Sean Murphy, and Paul Dino and various artists including Stjepan Šejić, Adam Hughes, Chad Hardin, Otto Schmidt, and Matteo Collins. This becomes an opportunity for Harley to bemoan how she “always tries to fix broken toys” and how she’s too wise to align herself with untrustworthy, narcissistic criminals now.

The issue delivers perfection on every level, so pick your favorite cover, settle in, and have a Merry Christmas! Despite my blasting the last story, I will say that it was nice to read a Harley book where I could recognize that I was reading Harley Quinn. Harleen is probably the best Harley story ever, and I would die if he even came close to that level of quality in interpreting my other favorite character, who also happens to be severely underdeveloped by DC at large. However, in the mid-2010s, DC decided to use the character to chase trends, and they turned her into a Deadpool ripoff in her New 52 run. He claims she was but a background character playing second fiddle to the Joker before entering comics, when in reality, Harley has been getting her own solo outings ever since Batman: the Animated Series. The bloody brilliance of 2020’s Harvey-nominated Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red deserved an encore-this time in print periodical! Leah Williams and Natacha Bustos reveal Harley’s teenage past as a high-flying gymnast with vengeance on her mind! It’s why no one reads her comics anymore, and why there’s no real fanbase around the character anymore, because there has to be a consistent character there in the first place for people to be fans of!

then it went on to be silly, sweet, hilarious and meaningful, with heists with catwoman, dates with ivy, recovering from the joker and plenty of Christmas and Chanukah content :) I think, if one was to read Harleen as an origin story and then this one, that would be a perfect introduction into the bubbly, smart but nonsensical, kind but prone to violence, morally grey character that is Harley Quinn. The stories are fun and enjoyable, often focusing on Harley's relationships with Joker or Ivy, with plots characterized by strong tones. This was an enjoyable collection, and I'll be keeping my eye out for some of the other collections some of these were inspired by.Harley schools basic thugs on how she would kill the Justice League, then outsmarts Batwoman in a foiled arrest.
