use before testing them, and my scepticism was validated by the average trackable range of my AirTag whilst inside – just 18. In future I will not be basing my conclusions on initial findings as I did here, and will fully test how a housing product impacts the performance of the full range of features for the device it is housing. However, upon further investigation there is a definite a loss of signal when using the find function at longer distances. This has no impact on the function or structural integrity of the mount, but is visible and won’t come off.

They are nicely made items with the AirTag fitting well and have been used in all sorts of conditions without any issue. The one downside of this mount is that it’s slightly more fiddly to attach due to the mounting position, but once it’s in place, you’ll have no issues. It still tracked in the same way and I could pick it up from my bike shed when I was inside, and when I tested by riding around and tracking it from a different phone I had similar results to a ‘naked’ AirTag.

This mounting system utilises the rails of your saddle for the most OEM hassle free mounting experience. Though given the AirTag's impressive imperviousness to both dust and water, this doesn't feel like a major concern.

Well I did get it to work but involved a lot of filing down of the air tag and a small amount on the biketag. There are many different AirTag bike mounts to choose from, but my favourite that I’ve come across so far is the AirBell. If you do have a 3D printer, I’ve also included a link later in the review where you can view and download the design file I used. Quick and easy to mount, no additional tools required, my favourite mount in this list and one I’ll be using with my bike moving forwards. They are provided with a security bolt, which is a T20 with a pin in the centre, requiring a T20b bit to use it (which is provided). From personal experience, my fork was worth more than the frame when I had my bike stolen, and a fork is much more generic therefore quite likely to be sold. Surely any thief would simply pop a quick slot through the aluminium holder and airtag (thereby killing it permanently), with the cordless angle grinder they used to cut through your lock?

While I appreciate many have wheelsets worth more than this bike, we have it set up just like we like it and have many memories on this rig so would like to do what we can to keep it in our hands! The spacers are optional, sometimes you have to use them between the bottle cage and the WOO, sometimes you don’t. Also, when riding busy Urban Streets, you’ll often need to be heard to be seen, which is where the AirBell comes in handy.Muc-Off Ltd and any of its group / connected companies are not liable for any loss of property or theft in relation to the use of this product. The Woo Holder will fit underneath your bottle cage and is supplied with long security Torx screws to hold it firmly in place. AirTags are compatible with any iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch device capable of running iOS/iPadOS 14.
