Description

I have an original OP-1 and would love it if this worked, but I have a vague feeling that it needs to run as a host, which it doesn’t. On the KeyStep 37, Chord Memory even has time-based strum effects, simply select the number of notes per chord and adjust velocity sensitivity - the harder you hit, the more notes you’ll hear. Bursts of unexpected musicality, of impulsive improvisations, of melodies forming themselves in front of you. You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish.

Unlike a traditional mod wheel, it’s fairly easy to brush past the strip and accidentally turn modulation on. It’s perhaps a little harder to hold down chords if you have chunky fingers, however fast, monophonic solos with jumps well in excess of an octave are a breeze. An accessible interface, a compact design and com-prehensive connectivity make it the perfect centerpiece for your rig - whatever your needs. Decksaver LE (Light Edition) covers are designed, tested and manufactured in exactly the same way as our standard covers and also made from super-tough polycarbonate. For me, plocking MIDI cc + having all your sequencing in one place > KSP randomisation features, but everybody’s different.

It’s a diverse creative tool; whether you want to sequence, arpeggiate or simply refine your creative ideas, KeyStep 37 will give you a leg up. The KeyStep 37’s sequencer is fundamentally the same as on the classic 32, but it is elevated by the new scales and chord features. Put simply, the Arturia KeyStep 37 is a 37-note keyboard controller with a suite of hands-on MIDI controls, smart sequencing and intriguing scale/chord functions. I respectfully, but completely disagree with the opinion that the Syntakt has the better MIDI sequencer. OP-1 Field seems just not so sustain-pedal friendly no idea if that’s the case or not, it’s just my gut telling me, considering how primitive its envelopes are.

The interplay between KeyStep 37’s inspiring functions results in an immersive experience where ideas blossom. If you want to run standalone but use the MIDI or CV outputs, you can juice the device from any regular portable charger or add the optional mains PSU.With the Keystep 37, Arturia have taken some design queues from the original keystep and the keystep pro, adding an extra octave of keys for a wider playable range, scale mode with LED readouts, so you always play in tune, a BPM readout, enhanced chord modes, a brand new strum mode and four assignable MIDI encoders, which can you to control you MIDI CC gear or DAW. These are Chord Strum, which will space notes in a chord out to emulate a guitar-like picking, and Velocity to Notes, which allows users to adjust the velocity for individual notes in a chord. I’d like to be able to sequence the OP-1 from the Keystep, use the Keystep to input into the OP-1’s sequencers (all of them - yes, looking at you, Endless) and use the Keystep to play the OP-1 synths and samplers, and start and stop the OP-1 tape. Wondering if the sequencer in the Syntakt would be a better option for synth modules down the line vs spending the extra money on the KS PRO.

It's responsive, dynamic, expanded in every direction to encourage musical exploration - the controller that’s built to inspire. The latest addition to Arturia’s ‘Step’ family, the KeyStep 37 feels reassuringly sturdy when we first remove it from its trendy box. This is augmented by Scale mode; this allows you to map the 3-octave keyboard range using your preferred scale. On the surface, the KeyStep 37 would just look like the original KeyStep with five extra keys and a BPM display, but Arturia has gone the extra mile to add in some cool new features and provide some quality of life enhancements.
