About this deal

She will feel it is her duty to be everything to everyone and will be expected to fulfill this role. But I am not kind to pop-press books and don't read many of them for this reason -- this book is *heads and shoulders* above all the other crap on the "self help" shelf. Quite short, and at times a little simplistic, but a valuable book nevertheless which I shall certainly dip into many more times, just as I already read some sections several times along the way.

I read this book during a severe episode of clinical depression and was able to do so, by using the chapters to do little and often. It has helped me work through some very difficult issues with my own health and I hope to make a full recovery. Recommend this for anyone suffering from (or having a loved one who's suffering from)depressive illness. sa už na prvých stranách dočíta o tom, ktoré kapitoly by si mal čitateľ prečítať ak sa nachádza v depresii a ktoré si má nechať na neskôr.More Hamburger icon An icon used to represent a menu that can be toggled by interacting with this icon. Before reading this book, I’d tried many CBT-based self-help books with practical exercises to complete. It is often those that just keep going, those that are there for everyone else who eventually burn out and find themselves in the unpleasant land of clinical depression. Definitely recommended for anyone who has depression, or knows anyone who has depression, or is at all interested in depression, or anyone else really. The closest thing I could find was kindasortamaybe just a bit like what the claims in the book were, to the point where I have more than a slight suspicion the "study" anecdote was wildly misrepresented to increase its anecdotal usefulness. To be perfectly honest, I've never made it past chapter two in any other self help book for depression.after spending so long viewing depression as a sign of falling behind - that it's actually a result of pushing too far forward. Albert is smart but too timid to speak up for himself, while Sidney means well but is a fragile man (“Yes, I can do pressups! He’s got himself a trilby, but his boss Joey keeps knocking it off his head, and his effort to rebrand himself as “the Captain” hasn’t caught on.
