I like the complexity it adds, but in the book, she plays the key part of something who doesn’t believe they can change anything, and this is a nice foil to Viv and Lucy’s determination. Tamara Chestna and Dylan Meyer adapted the screenplay from the 2017 novel of the same name by Jennifer Mathieu.
