It’s tough and gritty, but very addictive and I stopped reading anything else so I could finish this.What I love about them are her strong , gritty , no nonsense , direct , sometimes violent to reach the goal female characters , and she has created a crime queen in the character in Diamond. There is pain, love and hardship, life laid bare, it’s a real rip roaring piece of historical crime fiction.
