About this deal

Mackintosh and her husband made the decision to remove him from intensive care and allow him to die. Newman was a flight attendant so Falling is very much focussed on in-flight procedures and the attention to detail means it feels very real and thrilling.

Mackintosh's fourth novel, After the End, was published in hardback in June 2019 and became an instant Sunday Times bestseller. The book has already been praised as “riveting” (Megan Miranda) and “bingeworthy” (Caroline Kepnes), and it’s sure to be one of fall’s must-read crime novels. and on the ground, where Mina’s husband, Adam, and their daughter, Sophia, have their own dangerous situation escalating. I'm not a huge fan of full cast audiobooks, but in this case I think that it would have improved the listening experience.

This award-winning author has made a name for herself with an array of standalone psychological thrillers, including her debut I Let You Go in 2015. If the story was just the action on the plane and Mina’s flashbacks to her adoptive journey with Sophia, I may have debated a 5 star rating. Both have decisions to make, both are put to the test, both are in a fight to protect their daughter and survive. But then I considered how I would feel if I were her, and decided I’d be even more annoying so I forgave her.But I enjoyed how they addressed their issues, moved on and grew closer together, especially Adam and Sophia who had some sweet moments. Her novels are published in more than 35 languages and have sold more than two million copies worldwide. This is the 30th book, but considering Alex has survived "Kill Alex Cross" before, chances are he survives this one. If you like a good old-fashioned thriller, but with an emotional concept as well, then this is one you won’t want to pass up!

Mina is a down-to-earth and relatable woman who comes face to face with an unthinkable horror when her daughter’s life is threatened. However, right before the start of the journey, Mina receives an eerie message from an anonymous passenger. I watched a woman and her partner carry twin babies to their car and felt a sudden rush of bitterness. I like the way the storyline builds to sky high levels at both ends of the drama, it has you glued to the pages and it’s an adrenaline rush. Born in Bristol, England, she studied French and Management at the Royal Holloway University in Surrey, before joining the police force after graduating.Having Vinette Robinson as the sole narrator made it very difficult to keep each character and section separated in my mind. There are mysterious things that happen, for instance, her daughter has a severe allergy and needs an epi pen with her most times. And it's not going to get better without honesty and listening on both sides but they aren't about to be honest with each other and both seem too far gone to listen to the other.
