About this deal

It took me less than 24 hours to read 'A Better Me' because there is nothing of weight in this book, easily digestible like one of Gary’s newfound diets.

What made it really delicious was where we all went afterwards in our noughties wilderness, my cardigan years. Let Me Go is my bestselling solo single, and maybe because it's a celebration it somehow offers hope. The loss of their daughter Poppy was so upsetting and heartbreaking as I can relate to how that feels having gone through that myself. Alongside this he was also requested by the Queen to organise her 86th birthday party, for which he arranged for several prestigious performers, spanning over the decades she has spent in power, to perform. The chapter about his daughter Poppy was absolutely heart breaking but I am glad the family pulled through. The reformed group had another series of number one albums and singles, revitalising their career almost ten years after their split.

He had me laughing out loud in some places as I could relate so much to what he said about being fat. There's a potted, earlier, history of Take That which is interwoven with this text for the benefit of readers unfamiliar with their past, but the focus is firmly on the depression Barlow suffered with his weight problems and the way he found his way to good health through the mire of dodgy diets out there. In this warm, intimate and humorous book, rich with nostalgia and unexpected intimate detail, Gary Barlow unpacks the people, music, places, things and cultural phenomena that have made him the man that he is. In fact, I used the press conference to announce that one of music's legendary star-makers, Clive Davis, was waiting in New York to sign me to his label.

JLS fans go wild as boyband announces new tour dates for summer 2024: 'This just gave me goosebumps! There were some gems in here that I shall take away with regards to his thoughts and where he’s at now with his health. The White Witch, X-Men's Storm, Pennywise and The Mask: As stars get into the Halloween spirit - can YOU guess who's behind the costume? Whilst it’s admirable to read about his now obsession with everything natural and organic and all of that has helped him to find happiness and healthiness, I still think that’s out of reach for most people that have busy lives. He took an orange, as I remember it, a melon, according to him, got in his car with the blacked-out windows and was driven off.

Mum and Dad would drive me over, then wait and drive me back pretty much every weekend for five years. His brave discussion of the devastating loss of his daughter - and his ability to go ahead with the Olympics Closing Ceremony just 10 days later - bears witness to the strength of the human spirit and I'm sure will act as a beacon of hope for parents going through a similar loss. When Gary appeared on the EX Factor he looked fit and healthy, better than he looked in the nineties. In more recent years, Gary has also turned his attention to the world of theatre, composing the score for the hugely successful production of 'Finding Neverland'; working alongside Tim Firth on 'Calendar Girls The Musical'; and collaborating with Tim and his Take That bandmates on 'The Band', a record-breaking stage musical currently being adapted into a feature film. and then go into the audience to watch them getting standing ovations, thinking, 'How can I get one of them? Faced with an underperforming solo career, tireless media taunts and the other cruel twists of fate, Gary turned to food.

But few days ago, thanks to the little bits on Facebook, I watched him on Graham Norton's talk about his book.As the clock tipped from 1999 to 2000 I was quietly over-eating in my pop star mansion with so many rooms I never managed to count them. Since the initial conception it evolved into a memoir, but it is quite clear which sections were intended for its original iteration. So in A Different Stage, this is me opening the curtains and sharing moments nobody has heard or seen before . In his warm, witty and authentic voice, Gary recounts his story with compelling insight, captivating sincerity and a human side that people rarely see.
