About this deal

Del Rey released her second studio album and major-label debut Born to Die in January 2012 by Interscope Records, Polydor Records, and Stranger Records. Although a specific charting position was not released, The Paradise Edition was certified gold by the Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique in France.

I think this is the version I have, but I'm not sure, because the matrix numbers does not match those listed above (my C-side has 010417121-A-4 and JI etched in it, and D-side has 010417121-B-3), it was bought in Europe spring 2023 and has the "Made in Poland" stamp on the back. These are things you don't find out until you break the sealed wrapping, which undermines the 'Mint' rating. There is still baked in crackle lasting for about 5 seconds of Video Games, otherwise, my copy is pretty immaculate: clean, flat, and centred, as one would hope. It's a shame the marketers at Interscope/Polydor felt the need to be 'tricky' regarding what's inside the package. Love this album and my pressing is decent, but the cardboard box set it came with was crappy and came unglued. In July, Del Rey expressed her intentions release an expanded version of Born to Die subtitled The Paradise Edition, which was initially expected to contain seven newly recorded tracks to supplement the original record.

The newly recorded material was simultaneously made available on the standalone extended play Paradise (2012). While the project was not directly supported by singles of its own, the tracks " Ride" and " Burning Desire" were released from Paradise on September 25, 2012, and March 13, 2013, while " Dark Paradise" was serviced from Born to Die on March 1, 2013. Still, when listening on large speakers, it sounds great, and on headphones, only two of the tracks are severely affected, so overall I'd rate the quality of this 4/5. The project also reached number six on the Official New Zealand Music Chart, [37] where it was eventually certified platinum. The Paradise Edition was released in vinyl record packaging on November 20; it came with the vinyl for Paradise, and designated a slipcase to hold a separately-purchased vinyl of Born to Die. As someone humorously pointed out below, it sounds like Body Electric was mastered after the kids went to bed, and indeed, the RMS sound volume plummets by something like 5db from Cola to Body Electric. It's dead quiet and has literally zero pops right out of the bag after only a cleaning with a normal carbon brush. Now this copy did have a lot more popping, but i think its because it had paper on it fro the sleeve.

Like all my "Made in Poland" discs of Lana (which includes Honeymoon and Lust For Life also) there seems to be distortion in the high-end that comes through towards the inner part of the discs on some tracks, although less on this record than on the other two (and really only noticable when listening on headphones). That said, I've had collectors purchase this package for its bonus tracks and, to be fair, that's what's unique about this release. The second disc commences with the track " Ride", which Tom Breihan from Stereogum described as a "string-drenched ballad" that saw Del Rey exploring the "crossover-soul-pop" musical styles that British singer Adele is commonly associated with.info/album/view/90708 The audio level issues is not a deal breaker for me because I digitize my records and mostly listen to them from my PC, which allows me to correct the audio levels in the process, but I can understand people who listen to the record directly finding this annoying. Yayo" first appeared on Del Rey's debut studio album Lana Del Ray (2010); [17] David Edwards of Drowned in Sound described the track as "stammeringly beautiful", and directed his commentary towards the genuine emotions of "a heartbeat away from collapse.
