Hex is used in mathematics and information technologies as a more friendly way to represent binary numbers. Each hex digit represents four binary digits; therefore, hex is a language to write binary in an abbreviated form. But a number that you see as the number 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 or 16 in a hexadecimal counting base is not the same number 10,11,12,13,14,15 or 16 that you see when you look at the decimal base counting table.

How to Calculate Hexadecimal to Decimal
