About this deal

Barebells bars are available in seven flavors. We have ranked five of these Barebells bars by their nutritional profile, ingredients, protein content, taste, and overall product offering. So here comes the list. 1. Barebells Salty Peanut Flavor Protein Bars

All the flavors look basically the same: a thin coating of milk chocolate and some sort of chunks on top (in this case, chocolate chunks.) But that is exactly what we have with Barebells protein bars. They are, hands down, my favorite protein bar on the market right now. Milk protein, collagen peptides, humectant (glycerol), sweetener (sucralose, maltitol), polydextrose, cocoa, water, milk powder, sunflower oil, almonds, salt, soy lecithin. There’s no other way to say it – this bar is ‘meh’, boring, a bit bland. It’s not bad, but its not fab. It’s oddly similar to Fulfil’s Hazelnut Whip bar, just without the benefit of a hazelnut flavour. No shade to Barebells but, like with so many other flavours, Fulfil just outdoes them here. Hazelnut Nougat (6.5/10) Generally, You get 20 grams of protein at 300-350 calories, and 20 grams of protein at just 200 kcal is fantastic for a protein bar. So as per the calories, barbells protein bars are a big yes. I tried Chocolate Dough first because this flavor was the most appealing to me (who can pass up a good chocolate option? Not me!) It tastes like a mixture of chocolate cake and a candy bar. It’s kind of like a Crunch bar because of the crunchy chocolate pieces on top (in protein bar form, of course…)

It’s not too sweet, but there’s definitely sweetness to it. There are sugar alcohols (14g) in these bars to sweeten them, which often don’t sit well with my stomach. But after eating quite a few of these bars (multiple boxes) I haven’t noticed any issue with the sugar alcohols. Comparison to other protein bars– These are about the same price as most protein bars I’ve tried (or even a bit lower than some.) Flavor-wise, these are some of the best protein bars I’ve had. They’re comparable to Built Bars (which have been my go-to for a while), and some of the Barebells flavors I like even more than those. The texture is the best I’ve had in any protein bar. But as per the standard of vegan protein bars, it’s pretty decent. It’s not the best one, but it’s okayish(acceptable). Enter the protein bar, a convenient way to get some extra protein in your diet when you're on the go.The center is softy, and you don’t have to put a lot of effort to chew. The sweet and creamy chocolate coating and the crispies on the top felt good. The overall texture is spot on. What sets Barebells apart is their candy bar-like texture. If you’re used to dense & chewy protein bars, Barebells will completely change the way you view protein bars. I was the least excited to try this one because the flavor doesn’t sound that exciting. I’m not typically a big peanut gal, so I didn’t have high expectations. Hazelnut protein bars have soy protein isolate and pea protein as the primary protein source. In my previous article, I have clearly explained that soy protein isolate is harmful to men, and men should not use it. However, If you don’t have any other options and still like to try it with proper diet management and calorie counting. You can have it once a day.

At 55g these bars are slightly smaller than average, but they are also slightly lower in calories, with each being around 200kcal. Although the macros range depending on flavour, each boasts an impressive nutritional profile. You’re guaranteed 20g of protein, around 15g carbs, and minimal sugar, although the fat content (8-10g, with around 5g saturated fat) might put some people off. Supplements are not essential for anyone. You can get 100g of protein from a vegan diet if you know how to make a balanced one with the right ingredients. Barebells sure love their sprinkles – this bar is adorned with some white disks which, although cute, have no discernible purpose or relation to fudge whatsoever. But, unnecessary adornments aside, the bar is deliciously sweet – as you would expect fudge to be. Hazelnut Nougat protein bars have more carbs; fats compare to other Barebells protein bars. Also, the protein quantity is less. This review is in no way sponsored by Barebells or biased in any way. I’m about to rave about these protein bars, so I felt it necessary to preface this review by saying that.Barebells made some rather large claims when this flavour was released, and similarities with a certain range of luxury Italian chocolates were more than implied (‘little crunchy Rocher-style Hazelnut pieces’). Does it live up to their hype? A decent tasty protein bar. It has the texture of a fudgy protein bar, but it’s less sugary. It almost tastes like a sweet-salty protein bar. The white sprinkles all over the protein bar play the role of a crunchy factor. Barebells have two different plant-based protein bars; Hazelnut Nougat and Salty peanut vegan protein bars. The primary source of protein is whey protein isolate. We all know that whey protein is a high-quality protein with a faster absorption rate than other protein sources. Also, the thin strip of caramel hardly provides any real flavor. Uhg, I feel like I wasted money, but at the same time, I’m glad I finally just tried it out for myself.

In general, this is a decent protein bar. Barebells delivers with the macros on all their bars, and the texture is good. Flavour-wise it’s also pleasant, but there’s nothing overall amazing about this bar, not a lot to rant about. Certainly not disappointing, but certainly not astounding either. Coconut-Choco (4/10) Covered in tiny crispy pieces of almond, its core is a soft, pleasant texture and tastes delicious. Not the best one like the salty peanut barebells protein bar, but it’s still one of the best ones out there. Although the little white sprinkled spots look cute, they have no role in the taste or overall crunchiness of crunchy fudge, and I can’t find any part of putting any sprinkles all over it. If you only try one flavor, definitely try to get your hands on the creamy crisp and thank me later. It doesn’t have the same crunchy shortbread interior as a Twix bar, but the crunchy cookie pieces on the outside, combined with the extremely soft & caramel-y interior, make this resemble a Twix.

Hazelnut nougat’s center is filled with soft nougat cream and a milk chocolate coating. The smooth texture of the core is balanced with the Cripsy outer chocolate layer. Personally, it was my least favorite of the bars. It was Mary’s least favorite, as well, because we’re both not big peanut fans. When Fulfil discontinued the ‘ Lemon Zinger’ I was more than a little bitter (pun fully intended). Although Barebell’s attempt isn’t quite as good, it’s certainly not bad. It’s not bad at all. It’s not an unpleasant bar by any means. It is good. The hazelnut flavour isn’t overpowering, but I think the sweetener make it taste somewhat artificial. I’d say it was the poor cousin of Fulfil’s Hazelnut Whip bar – obviously not as good but deserves some credit for trying. If you have dreams of Ferrero Rochers and/or Nutella, prepare to have your head ripped out of the clouds with this one. Salty Peanut (9/10)
