Ana Huang brought these characters to life and I became attached to Jules so I did shed a few tears and I did have moments where I was angry on behalf of Jules. Twisted Games These are my opinions on the books, and of course, people may not agree with me, but this is how I personally felt with each book. i really loved the characters in these books, but they do follow a similar theme in each one, despite the plots being different. so, it can get kinda repetitive seeing the same cycle of events occurring but overall they were good!! For eighteen years Rapunzel stays imprisoned in her tower, knowing she must protect everyone from her magical hair. When she finally decides to leave the only home she’s ever known—to see the floating lights that appear on her birthday—she gets caught up in an unexpected adventure with two thieves: a would-be outlaw named Gina, and Flynn Rider, a rogue on the run. Twisted Love is the first book in the Twisted series and this is also my first journey into this author’s writing and I had a blast with this one here. I actually was able to read from the “special edition” cover which I found at B&N. The store was having a deal on this book and the second book and while I would have preferred the other cover, these editions are quite beautiful in their own way. I was quite intrigued by this series as this has been all over bookstagram especially and I have been wanting to get more new adult contemporary under my belt. This book was so different than anything that I was expecting, it had content that I would have expected from a different kind of contemporary than what I got the vibe from the blurb. It definitely has a more edgy feel to it. But I really loved the type of story that we received here and I am eager to read more of this series. SummaryElizabeth Lim’s “Reflection” has a new twist in that Mulan travels to the underworld in Diyu when Shan Yu mortally wounds Captain Shang in battle. But the ruler of Diyu King Yama is not willing to let Shang go that easy. Now Mulan has to team up with Shishi who is the great lion guardian to Shang to find his friend’s spirit. They need to travel the breadth of Diyu and face harrowing obstacles to save Shang’s spirit which just like them is in danger of permanent imprisonment if they fail. It is even harder for Mulan who has yet to shed his disguise of Ping the soldier. He cannot dare reveal his identity as he does not know how his friend will react but she also cannot help but fear that she may lose him forever in the Underworld. Lim intertwines some of the best quotes and events of the original Disney movie to make for an incredible journey story. The lead character Mulan is a selfless and brave woman that is always ready to help and fight for her family and friends, which makes for a beautiful story.
