About this deal

Sovol's SV01 Pro turns your creative ideas into reality. The unique FDM printer is characterised by extraordinary precision and speed as well as quiet work. Many other features adorn this printer and make it the ideal choice for your four walls! I also tried printing my favorite TPU test model which is the Bathtub Tug Boat from vandragon_de. It’s a quite difficult print, especially for TPU. AWIN, Sovendus, Meta-Pixel, Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, creativecdn.com (RTBHouse), Ads Defender Fortunately, you can easily upgrade the print surface in the future with a PEI flex plate or with the official Sovol flex plate. I would just like to see something similar out of the box, especially considering that the SV01 Pro is considered a “pro” machine. 4.3-inch color touchscreen Ensures a stable printing process. Aluminium frame. High strength aluminium extrusion. Enhanced stability and reliability.

As you might expect, the Sovol SV01 Pro comes with a direct drive extruder, the same which is installed on the SV04. I had a good experience using this extruder on the SV04, but it wasn’t as good on the SV01 Pro. The SV01 Pro is incredibly quietly operated by the Creality v4.2.2 Silent Board with TMC2208 stepper drivers! Silence and quality in one! What’s more important here is the binding issues I had for the Z-axis which can be seen on the top of the print. The lead screws were not moving smoothly and this caused them to bind a bit creating inconsistencies in the printing quality. I also had Z hop enabled which also didn’t help too much in keeping the Z-axis movement accurate. The prints that the Sovol SV01 produced were smooth and clean and everything you’d like in a print. I put together this profile for printing minis. It is based on the Ender 3/5 miniatures profile from Fat Dragon Game tweaked for the extruder on the SV01.Some people print a rectangle in the size of their printing area and correct the bed level while printing on all 4 corners - you have to be fast 😉 The second issue is with the heat break. I was not able to remove the hotend to access the heat break because the grub screw was damaged and the only “fix” would be to either get a replacement hotend assembly or drill through the damaged grub screw. Either way, not what you would expect. Because, if i Setup the Printer in Cura with the Profile of CR-10, i get a different End-G-Code like yours: Sovol had been on my radar for a little bit with their SV01 3D Printer. I liked some of the unique features they were offering such as a rectangular build volume. I happened to enter one of their contests and won one of the printers! I’ve been using it for a little bit and wanted to share my experience, because I have to say… it’s been one of the better printers I’ve used in 2019! Join me in my Sovol SV01 3D printer review. I have levelled the bed multiple times. I have even drag on a piece of paper all over the print bed, which is glass with a textured surface - looks very much like Anycubic Ultrabase. My understanding of this part may not be perfect! The cube print fails at about 20% of the expected height. Idle power draw is around 10W. When the hotend and heatbed are heating up, the Sovol SV01 Pro draws around 290W. After it starts printing, the power draw stabilizes to around 65W. As usual, the power wires are not properly terminated with ferrules, so if you have the tools I recommend doing that. I also hope Sovol will do the same in the future. Sovol SV01 Review: Hands On | All3DP

I didn’t have the chance to review the original Sovol SV01, but from what I’ve read online, it was a pretty good 3D printer. This time, Sovol is trying to improve that printer with the launch of the Sovol SV01 Pro. SV03 Touch Screen Firmware (16 points leveling 2021-11-18) SV03 Touch Screen Firmware (25 points leveling 2021-11-18) Sovol SV03 Source Code (2021-2-16) I’ve been using the SV01 for review purposes and out of the box, it has been one of the best printers I’ve had the privilege of reviewing this year. The print quality has been consistently great with a nicely tuned profile. That irregular print platform size actually comes in handy when you need to print something a bit bigger but don’t have the space for a bigger printer. Another test print is this Phil-A-Ment model I usually print to test the cooling performance of the machine. This time, please take the part cooling results with a grain of salt, because I used my custom fan duct and not the original one which changes the results.Activate M600 on the user-friendly touchscreen to switch filament at each level. Now you're probably wondering why? Well, to be able to print multicolour!

Sovol SV01 3D Printer with Direct Drive Extruder

The models adhere incredibly well to the flexible build plate. By slightly bending the plate, the models can be easily removed. Some larger prints did have some corners lift unfortunately. I recommend playing it safe with a brim on prints you really care about that have very large surface areas or really small. For the most part adhesion was not an issue for me. Sovol might have chosen this print surface to keep costs lower, but I can’t say I am a fan. Some filaments leave a mark on the print surface (especially silk filaments) and make it look bad. Adhesion is good, removing prints is easy, but the surface won’t look great after a few uses. Built-in 350W Meanwell power supply ensures stable and sufficient power, and fast heat-up for the hotbed, and nozzle. It protects SV03 from unexpected power surges.

But it’s worth mentioning that if you reboot the machine, or move it, you will need to re-level the printer. This is caused by the movement of the Z-axis motors. 32-bit Creality V4.2.2 board a direct drive extruder is generally considered to be more compatible with a wider range of filaments. This is especially the case with flexible and abrasive materials.
