About this deal

Sound reproduction over the built-in speakers is clean and relative powerful. Excellent sound over headphone. A tag already exists with the provided branch name. Many Git commands accept both tag and branch names, so creating this branch may cause unexpected behavior. Are you sure you want to create this branch?

The RG405M is capable of emulating some PS2 games but don’t expect to be able to emulate everything. You’ll really need to test and tinker with the settings on an individual game level to get the most out of PS2 emulation on the RG405M. To make emulation a tiny bit easier, I recommend that you use PAL (European) versions of games as they only need to emulate up to 50fps at full speed. While playing those more demanding systems, the RG405M’s 4500mAh battery gave me an average of 2-3 hours of play time. Less demanding games/systems will use up the battery slower and you can expect more battery life in those cases. It’s worth noting that the aluminium shell does occasionally warm up when pushing systems like Gamecube and PS2 on it over an extended period of time and cranking the resolution up. While it’s noticeable, it’s definitely not unbearable and I did not mind it one bit, but again opinions might vary. If you are on GammaOS, you will boot into a recovery screen, use the volume down button to navigate to the Enter Fastboot menu selection, press the power button once. The RG405M is easily capable of emulating Nintendo DS games. As an android device with a touch screen, it can also emulate the touch screen of the original DS. No special settings or tinkering is really required to play any Nintendo DS game on the RG405M. Magisk/root included. Ignore any warning about additional setup required, this is a false flag. Magisk is working fine. First you will need to plug in a fresh SD card into the RG405M. The android system will ask you how you wish to format the card, as portable storage or as internal memory. You will want to format it as portable storage.

Daijisho launcher as front-end, pre-configured with RetroArch for some systems. (Optimized settings for GB,GBC,GBA,NES,SNES,Genesis,PSX) (BIOS files need to be supplied by you). The RG405M also does not have a powerful enough chipset to emulate the entire 3DS library. In fact, most of the games will struggle but there are definitely some playable games here. In this console with Android 12 we have a 4500 mAh battery that can give us many hours of use. A very interesting powerful console that can be greatly improved by installing the best designed Daijishō or BOD4Droid frontend.

Below is a list of my recommended emulators for use with the RG405M for the various systems that this device is capable of emulating. PSP

RG405V Specifications

Lenovo Legion Slim 5 and Slim 5i (16”, 8) launched with latest AMD Ryzen and Intel Raptor Lake processors and plenty of GPU options If you are playing smaller, less intensive games you could drastically increase this time, which is very impressive. Looking at the specs for the RG405M, it features a Unisoc T618 running at 2ghz, MaliG52 GPU, 4GB’s RAM, and a 4” IPS display with a resolution of 640 x 480. It also comes with a 4500mah Battery, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. These specs should allow you to run emulation up to and including PS2.

RetroArch shortcuts (Hold hotkey down) + L1 = Slow Motion | L2 = Load State | R2 = Save State | R1 = Fast Forward | X = Show FPS | Y = Screenshot If you need to tinker with settings to find better performance, try setting the EE Cycle Rate or EE Cycle Skip to a lower value in the System Settings menu though your results will vary by game. A full spec breakdown has not yet been shared, but it is safe to assume we are looking at a near identical hardware setup to the RG405M. Casting is not an option. The delay makes any games unplayable on the big screen. Same with Bluetooth headphones…

Anbernic RG405V

Setting the Graphics Renderer to Vulkan will generally have better performance than OpenGL though it may vary by game. Also, while in the Graphics menu, set Threaded Presentation to On. One major upgrade I did notice that I wasn’t expecting was the battery life, throughout my review process I would easily pull around 6 hours of life out of one charge and that’s when playing some pretty demanding games. The battery is powerful enough to allow for several hours of uninterupted gaming, but it heavily depends on the system and game.
