The chocolate middle is extremely sweet and alittle unnecessary. I am not one to watch my sugar, but I thought these were just ok due to this. Took to a friend’s home and could tell these weren’t everyone’s favorite… sorry. I have to say, these are the perfect brownies for summertime–I will be freezing some, and when we go birdwatching, I can throw a few into a brown bag along with some sandwiches and fruit, and have an easy picnic. Or, they can be served with cut-up watermelon or bing cherries for a nice summer dessert. Here is the recipe. Fudgie-Wudgies Recipe is from “The 55 Best Brownies in the World.” Once cool, add to your ice cream maker and churn as the manufacturer directs with the frozen ice cream bowl. I personally use a cuisinart ice cream maker, and churn for about 15 minutes. I used bakers chocolate squares and they turned out great. They are so easy to make, just watch out, it's hard to stop eating them!

Make the oatmeal cookie dough: Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer until fluffy (I like to mix for about 2 minutes until it is really fluffy and changes texture and color). Beat in the eggs until well mixed. Add in the vanilla. Gradually add in the flour, baking soda and salt. Lastly stir in the oats. Bring the sugar, chocolate, milk, butter, and salt to a boil in a large, heavy saucepan, stirring frequently. Let the mixture boil for 2 minutes; take the saucepan off the heat. Step 2

My Favourite Places

Definately will make them again. I used cocoa because we never have chocolate in my house and they were just gorgeous. Once you have sunk your teeth into one, you will be hard pressed not to want to immediately sink your teeth into another one. In fact . . . I would be most surprised if you were found to be sneaking down to the kitchen in the middle of the night . . . just for another little smidgen.
