Share Your Thoughts Cancel reply One thought on “ Fosi Audio TB10D Mini Class D Amplifier Reviewed” One thing to note is that the TB10D isn’t entirely transparent or neutral. It has a distinct character that some listeners may find appealing, while others may prefer a more neutral sound. However, this character is what makes the TB10D stand out from other budget amplifiers and gives it a unique sound signature. Old shit isn’t really that great, even the hyped stuff like the Adcom. Weather that be because of degradation over time or nostalgia clouding your memory (probably both). This holds double true for speakers btw, *hint, hint*. Reply The Fosi Audio V3 yet again proved a pleasant surprise, swapping out the BT20A Pro which has been running my eight speakers for quite a while now immediately produced tangible differences. The separation of the channels on the V3 have increased by at least as much as it did from the original TB10D to the BT20A Pro and the dynamic range has opened up significantly, perhaps more so on the treble than the bass. It really helps the clarity of vocals, unless you are listening to Type-O Negative perhaps. power supply, with 10db attenuators max volume is low compared to my BT20A (older version) much more without, a little sparkle sound when using my 24v power supply, power was on from the psu when connected to the amp that was off

The main speakers I connected to the Fosi Audio TB10D have been KLH Model Five, NHT C3, and Buchardt S400. The DACs I used to power it have been SMSL C200, Khadas Tone 2 PRO, Aune X1s GT, HIFIMAN EF400, and JDS Labs Elk DAC II+ Balanced. The overall sonic signature of the Fosi Audio TB10D is very similar to that of the Fosi Audio BT30D, both of them have a really dynamic, punchy sound, with good instrument separation, and overall clarity. Please keep in mind that besides the default signature, the bass and treble can be uplifted heavily with the EQ potentiometers which do not increase the distortions or cause considerable problems, so the signature of TB10D can be altered drastically. Also, if anything, my experience with Fosi Audio, along with SMSL AO200, Arylic A50+, and Burson Funk has proven to me once again, that the quality of the speakers is far more important than the quality of the dac and the amplifier, and with a decent AMP , decent DAC, both entry-level , but with a really high-quality pair of speakers like the KLH Model 5, you can have a blast.Aluminium alloy enclosure with cooling vents on top and bottom. The Amp chip’s heatsink is attached to the enclosure making the whole case a heatsink But, as I mentioned in my review of the BT20A, I would not buy this specifically for critical hifi listening. Before you go… I have an old Denon amp at home, which you’ll see in the photos. It’s a DRA-37, and if my memory serves me correctly, it’s only about a 50-watt amp, but it’s such a warm, wholesome, and deep sound.

Fosi Audio TB10D – A Tiny Amp With Massive Sound

These little amps are like gateway drugs for newcomers, allowing them to get into audio at a great price and hopefully encourage them to buy more hifi gear later on in life. The Fosi Audio TB10D box has the slogan “Hi-Fi Made Fun” printed on it, and I think that Fosi Audio is certainly living up to it.Affordable and simple Class D amplifier yet powerful in setting up an audio system. First Impressions I saw a review for the revamped version and thought you know what, the price seems reasonable to give myself a go at the class D type amps. I am not quite sure what I was expecting, I was hoping for a decent sound at a good enough volume for my small room and to work with some old Cambridge Audio S30 speakers I have lying around. Inside, the TB10D houses a Texas Instruments TPA3255 amplifier chip, renowned in the audio enthusiast community for its top-notch performance. So don’t be fooled by its affordability – the TB10D is a well-crafted unit. Sound The Fosi Audio TD10D is a little powerhouse. While the tuning is a little bit stoic and austere for me in the mid range, the bottom end is full and rich, plus the overall sound production is really nice.

As you can see in the unboxed picture above, there are no frills, just the amplifier and a 32V/5A power supply (same specs as AOSHIDA). In addition to the unpowered analog output to your speakers, Fosi also included a proper 3.5mm PRE-OUT on the BT20A Pro. You can use it to connect a powered subwoofer or speaker but you can also use it as a preamp and attach it to a power amplifier. That lets you use the volume, treble and bass to control the audio, passing on all the work to the power amp. With 300W available already you may never need to make use of it. Seeing it on an amp of this cost is a very nice bonus. I tested the Fosi Audio TB10D by connecting it to an SMSL DO200 MKII on one side and a pair of Q Acoustics Concept 20 on the other.l piccolo Fosi Audio TB10D è una bestiolina potente, direi quasi arrogante, che non fa mancare i bassi ma che potrebbe non andare bene a tutti. Per tutta la durata delle prove non sono mai andato oltre le “ore 10” del potenziometro del volume, non ce n’era proprio bisogno.

Bluetooth while it sounds clean (little or no noise compared to the A07 Pro) it just supports the SBC codec (so no AAC or LDAC) No Sub of course, but in this small room the sub can be overwhelming not just for me but very definitely for the neighbours below. Seriously though even if the Kenwood was good as new it would still get blown away by a modern class AB or class D. I have the Adcom GFA-545 that a grew up with as a kid around and I while I do take it out now and then I prefer my modern amps and the Adcom is budget audiophile legend and a beast of a amp. The amplifier can power one set of passive speakers which, according to the manual, can power as low as 2 ohms up to 8 ohms. Thanks to the massive power rating on this tiny amplifier, I found the volume to be plentiful for my small listening room. At just a quarter turn, I could hear everything great and never even got close to turning it up halfway with the fear it might blow my ears out in my small listening space! Class-D amps have become increasingly popular, plus they are small, light, and don’t run too hot. They’re cooler than other classes of amps like A, B, and ABs, but they produce the same amount of power. For anyone still following along ASR recently benched this amp, and for what its worth the results are pretty good.
