About this deal

Work Sharp products are Fast, Easy To Use, and Work Every Time. Work Sharp is proud to be a 4th generation, family-owned, American company and has produced industry-leading sharpening tools for 50 years. Work Sharp is 100 co-workers strong and has sold nearly 10 million sharpeners. The Work Sharp Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener has a smart, practical design. It starts with a plastic platform you can set on a workbench, table, or desk. On that sits an 8-inch-tall tower that houses a screw system to raise and lower the point at which the sharpening rod attaches to the tower. I would prefer this sharpener if you could use it on other tools. I have some leatherworking tools and some carpentry tools that this sharpener will not work on, and that’s a shame. If it could double as a scissor sharpener, it would be a much more attractive option.

As a user, if you see something we have missed, please do bring it to our attention. Your help is welcome. EIN Presswire, Everyone's Internet News Presswire™, The Work Sharp Professional Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener is a professional-grade tabletop knife sharpener. It will sharpen a wide array of knives, be easy to use, and provide precision results in a minimal amount of time. Work Sharp’s Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener works by clamping the knife securely into place with the included blade clamp, setting the angle of Work Sharp’s Tri-Brasive sharpening Rods (either using fine grit or coarse grit), and using them in a sweeping motion to sharpen the knife, moving the abrasive up from the cutting edge while moving slowly side to side. Using a downward sweep when honing will help finish the edge nicely. What it’s meant for This review is going to be a twofer. Since I already own the original Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener (non-Elite version), the generous folks at Work Sharp sent over the Upgrade Kit for me to review. Thus, bringing my original Precision Adjust to ELITE status (plus an extra Tri-Brasive). This will primarily be a Work Sharp Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener Elite review, but I will also touch on the Upgrade Kit. Work Sharp Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener Elite Contents Work Sharp Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener Elite – Full Kit The Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener Mk.2 is a more advanced and versatile sharpener than the original model it replaces. The Mk.2 features a two-speed electric motor, while the Mk.1 had a fixed motor. The angle guide has been redesigned as well. The Mk.1 model had interchangeable guides, while the Mk.2 combines these into a single switchable guide with an up-down toggle. They’ve also added an Edge Guide to the tool, which supports the blade along the full travel from tip to heel for a more stable, even edge. This Precision Adjust features 3 abrasives built into a rotating rod. The first is a coarse diamond (320 grit) that can be used on dull or damaged knives. The medium diamond (600 grit) refines the edge. The fine ceramic will put a very fine edge on your knife. To switch grits, you simply rotate the rod to expose the desired grit. It really does pay to have the ability to be precise with angles. Most new knives will fall into one category of angles. EDC knives, for example, usually have a 20- to 25-degree angle, whereas larger Outdoor knives can be 25- to 30-degree. The hone itself has three sides: a 320-grit, 600-grit, and a fine ceramic stone. Simply use a little force and turn the stone to the appropriate sharpening grit.

Like a genie in a bottle, Work Sharp grants us three wishes in the form of a fine-grit Tri-Brasive, coarse-grit Tri-Brasive, and a strop/serrations sharpener combo. Here are the abrasive grits that come with the Work Sharp Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener Elite: However, the Work Sharp system keeps the price down by using lighter materials and plastics, compared with more expensive, professional alternatives. Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener: How It Works An electric knife sharpener is a machine that uses motorized grinding wheels or abrasive belts to sharpen knives. The user places the knife into the machine, automatically sharpening the blade. Precision sharpeners can provide more control and precision when sharpening a knife. In contrast, electric sharpeners are generally faster and easier to use but may not offer the same level of precision as a precision sharpener. What is the difference between the Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener and the Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener Mk.2? Also, the simple weight of the sharpening arm deflects that larger blade downwards ,25 to .5 degrees. The guided sharpening system allows you to adjust the angle of the abrasive sharpening stones from 15 to 30 degrees in 1-degree increments. This angle versatility lets you get to the same blade edge angle as the designers of your knife intended. How difficult is it to use Work Sharp products?

For those wanting full control of the sharpening experience, the Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener™ is an angle adjustable, three abrasive grit, knife sharpening system that delivers precision and repeatability by controlling both the edge angle and the blade in unison. I have not yet tried the small knife table. Mostly because all my small slipjoints are currently in pretty good shape and I usually just touch them up with a ceramic rod. But when I do, I will post an update. I also have an old fillet knife that I would like to try, simply to see how the unit can handle the odd length and shape.
