About this deal

As you'd expect of a modern camera, there's a customizable 'My Menu' tab. This can be manually configured or set to simply show the menu options you used last. If you do decide to choose the options yourself, you can then assign the top-most option to one of the camera's custom buttons, for access while shooting. 'i ' menu (customizable) On the plus side, it's weather-sealed, which is more than you can say for something like the Canon M50 or Sony a6100. Overall, considering the price point of the Nikon Z50 vs its features, it certainly looks like a very appealing camera. Nikon Z50 vs Sony A6400 vs Fuji X-T30 vs Canon EOS M6 Mark II In movie mode Auto ISO is used in all exposure modes except 'M,' where it's optional. You cannot set the shutter speed threshold, but Exposure Comp is available, even in M mode. Battery

As you can see from the above table, the Nikon Z50 has a lot going for it when compared to its DSLR counterparts. It has a similar sensor as the higher-end Nikon D7500 (which is excellent). It sports the latest and the fastest EXPEED 6 processor. Its autofocus system has more AF points and coverage than any Nikon DSLR, and it has a wide AF detection range of -4 to +19 EV. It has a very fast continuous shooting speed of 11 FPS, and it can shoot high-quality 4K videos with no cropping. It is the smallest camera of the group (although it is just a tad heavier than the plastic Nikon D3500). The Nikon Z50 is better in almost every way when compared to the D3500 and D5600 DSLRs. And being a mirrorless camera, it has some features like Eye AF, Focus Peaking and other useful on-screen information overlays that are not found on any of the above DSLRs. NIKON Z 50 + NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR @ 37mm, ISO 100, 1/30, f/5.6Place the Z50 next to its full-frame siblings, the Z6 and Z7, and you can definitely see the family resemblance. There’s the same kind of layout, viewfinder placement and button layout, only in a more compact frame. A detailed list of camera specifications is available at NikonUSA.com. NIKON Z 50 + NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR @ 110mm, ISO 100, 1/1250, f/8.0 Eye AF does a great job of detecting a subject’s eye in a scene, and following it even when the face moves around. Again, this is probably not a camera that will be used extensively by professional portrait photographers, but for those who take family snapshots, this kind of feature can prove invaluable. Talking of rivals, Nikon has a tough job on its hands to convince floating voters to choose the Z50 over Fujifilm’s popular X Series cameras or the Sony Alpha range. While having the same Z mount as its full-frame siblings means the Z50 is compatible with a useful array of lenses, it can’t yet compete with the range and variety available elsewhere. That is all. Now assemble battery case with the controller inside with some super glue, and you have an adapter.

It will be obvious when Nikon releases the two compact lenses – the 28mm and the 40mm, that’s on the road map. I also edited some RAW samples of the 12-40 Olympus, 28-75 Tamron, 12-60 Leica/Panasonic, 16-80 Fuji and 24-70 Nikon Z6 and with the exception of the Tamron (which is full frame) I couldn't really spot a difference in the final images. zxaar: well, by saying the Canon EOS M was not exciting, you put that variable in the mix, so it's not so much about whether it has been done before, it's more about are there people interested in both cameras and lenses that will be adapted to them. Compared to the Nikon D3500 and D7500 that have a total of 10 buttons, the Z50 only has 6 total buttons, in addition to the multi-selector OK button. Nikon was able to do this by moving three of the buttons to the touchscreen area. Now, if you want to be able to zoom in / out via the EVF or the LCD, you have to touch the right side of the LCD screen. For me it’s a very good screen, can trigger photo capturing and focus modification at an instance, without the need to press a button. So elimination camera shake. For years I wanted Nikon to make an M5 and while they more or less have (even the flip-down screen!), they, as I sadly expected, don't have the lenses I want to support it. Nikon is keen to stress that the optics between the panel and your eye are designed in-house, as a way of emphasizing its optical know-how. And, sure enough, they offer a good view of the screen with little apparent distortion and a reasonable 1.02x magnification ratio (0.68x full-frame equivalent). At 20mm, the eye-point is a little short, which may make it difficult for some glasses wearers to see the extreme corners of the screen, but it's significantly bigger than the one in the D5600, which only managed 0.82x magnification and 95% coverage. We’re yet to fully test the Z50, but our initial impressions are very good. By now, the Z6 is more of a known quantity, and we’ve been very pleased with how it performs. The sample images displayed on the camera and the images and illustrations in the manuals are for expository purposes only.
