About this deal

Made from heavy-duty ceramic, it’s heat-proof up to 400℃, and reviewers praise its heat retention qualities and ability to turn out beautifully crisp bases time and time again. Durability is one. You should see if the stones are made out of high-quality materials for you to know if they are durable and up to what temperature they can handle.

Cordierite, discovered more than two centuries ago, is a naturally occurring mineral compound containing magnesium, iron, aluminum, and silicon. It’s found, among other places, near veins of tin in the mines of Southern England. Using your Cordierite Pizza Stone is not too different from using a Ceramic one. You still need to carefully place the pizza stone on even surfaces and with no sudden change in temperature. Shape: One might think that since pizza is round, a pizza stone should be too. But you'll get much better pizza out of a rectangular stone. Rectangular stones are often larger, so they hold more heat, which can make a pizza with better browning. Janjigian also thinks rectangular stones are more versatile for baking bread and other items that aren't perfectly round. The only time we see a round stone having an advantage is for grilling, since rectangular stones often don't fit, especially on circular grills. For almost all uses, rectangular is the way to go.

This product is FDA certified and does not contain any harmful substances. All in all, a quality product that delivers promising results. Pros

The most amazing in the group, however, is the pizza stone of course. Made out of ceramic, the 13-inch pizza stone is made to satisfy your pizza needs. You can’t bake pizza on a pizza stone without a pizza peel! You want to bake the pizza in a rally hot oven, it’s therefore important that you have a tool to transfer the pizza, so you don’t burn your fingers. A pizza peel is used to transfer the pizza in and out of the oven. If you don’t have a pizza peel, you can use a baking tray, but I really recommend investing in a pizza peel. It’s a fairly inexpensive tool that’s going to make it both easier and safer to transfer your pizza. The US also produces and uses cordierite pizza stones on a large scale. They are known to mine large quantities in Georgia and Wyoming. How to Care for a Cordierite Pizza Stone How it made bread: Many people bake bread with their pizza stones, so I used each to make an easy recipe for crusty white bread from King Arthur, a respected flour company where Janjigian teaches baking classes. I looked for loaves that were well-baked inside and browned (but not burnt) on the bottom. With four handles on two sides, all you need to do is to flip the stone over and you have a new side to work with.In our Lab, this stone's performance was good enough for professionals giving a crispy crust to pizza and a chewy exterior to flatbread. The stone also maintained even heat and stayed quite hot for an hour after removing it from the oven. We really like the pan's versatility and ease of use, and recommend it as a great oven-to-table vessel. When the pizza is done baking, you don’t need to transfer it to a cutting board, since it’s safe to cut on the surface and it’s easy to clean when melted cheese drips onto the surface.
