I managed to push through, just completely skipping over their dialogue, and really enjoyed all the different haunted places they discuss. Some I was familiar with, and some were new to me and they ALL definitely brought the icy chills and creep factors. Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural is literally my all-time favourite show on Youtube. I lost count of how many times I've seen it. At this point, it has become a comfort to me. Sometimes all you need is two guys looking for ghosts and being absolute idiots together week after week. It's the little things in life. Btw, if you haven't seen or heard of this series yet, GO WATCH IT NOW. It's incredible and I guarantee you'll love it!!! Also, they created this new show now called Ghost Files that is every bit as good, if not better than, Unsloved. The same goes for the book. It is fantastic. I loved everything about it and I expected nothing less.

As a fan of Shane & Ryan's tenure on Buzzfeed Unsolved, under the Supernatural banner, this book is a perfect companion to their Videos. Some of the book is drawn directly from their videos and some is drawn from well know haunted locales. The hotel claims that multiple hotel employees have heard strange noises, seen apparitions, and even seen "unexplained figures" in their photographs around the hotel and room 636 in particular. I would recommend the audiobook for a casual listen if you like paranormal/supernatural/spooky stories with a little bit of a jokey kind of spin on it. ARE WE EVER GOING TO FIND OUT WHO DID IT?! Did the mom write the ransom? Why was the random note written at the house? Why did JonBenét have pineapple in her stomach? Who gave her the pineapple? How did the DNA on her clothing get there, who does the DNA belong to? Was she being abused? WHY DOES HER BROTHER SOUND SO CREEPY AND WHY DOES HE SMILE SO MUCH?! Someone in that family is guilty of something. Darnit! It still keeps me up at night." Despite DNA testing, there have been no further leads. As for the culprits, the biggest lead detectives had was a man who claimed to have seen a woman and a young boy on the side of the road, sifting through their trunk. He assumed they were having car trouble, but she waved him off. Whether or not they are connected to the case is still a mystery.

The use of a serious male narrator reminiscent of a 50s commercial voice-over, countered by snarky little interjections by Shane and Ryan, was a recipe for success. It was hilarious. This is my new baby. Please excuse me while I stalk fan art and re-read over and over. Probably comes with a massive book hangover and/or a new book boyfriend too.
