About this deal

Betty Blue is venerated on campuses for its anti-establishment, free-spirited, all-you-need-is-love-provided-the-bitch-is-hot stance: the film is a hotbed of classic French passion and anarchic comedy. The novel however, is more in your Bukowski-Miller vein, with its likeable tossbag narrator and occasional moments of hideous self-aggrandisement. Our music features bring you our thoughts and opinion on everything about music. It could be that we love a particular band or artist so much that we just have to write about them retrospectively. Perhaps something has happened in the music world that we need to talk about, more than just a news item, but something we need to deep dive into. This was my first ever London show (on my first ever London visit!) Was honestly surprised at the tone/quality of Sarah Lancashires voice, I remember her from the Raquel days, she was fantastic and the interaction between the cast was brilliant. The play was witty, slight blue, hilarious, we were a mixed aged group and all enjoyed it. Eddie und Bettys Schwester Lisa werden sobald er Bob und Annie trifft einfach nicht mehr erwähnt. Es wirkt als hätte der Autor einfach vergessen, dass er die beiden Charaktere auch noch erfunden hatte zuvor und sich erst gegen Ende an sie erinnert hat.

They were predicting storms for the end of the day but the sky stayed blue and the wind died down. I went to take a look in the kitchen – make sure things weren’t getting clogged up in the bottom of the pot. Everything was just fine. I went out onto the porch armed with a cold beer and stayed there for a while, my face in the sun. It felt good. It had been a week now that I’d been spending my mornings in the sun, squinting like some happy idiot – a week now since I’d met Betty.’ Glitzernd, möchte ich hinzufügen "s. 379 Over the course of the movie, which is quite long (I saw the 178 minute director's cut), Zorg goes to increasingly frantic lengths both to please Betty and to protect her from herself. In this regard, certainly, Betty and Zorg are almost identical, both going to extremes, in their own ways, to defend their relationship from outside interference. Framing the rough-edged,troubled alienated youth (a major theme of the movement) of Betty and Zorg, Beineix closes in on the couple in long gliding panning shots, stopping on Betty and Zorg being naked, both physically and mentally.the fact dass er am anfang und ende chilli macht, fand ich, hat einen schönen bogen gespannt und das alles nochmal gut zusammen gezogen aber war jetzt auch nichts weltbewegendes All’inizio si pensa di trovarsi davanti a una piccola crepa, ma se si guarda appena più da vicino si scoprono voragini imperscrutabili. A volte la solitudine umana è imperscrutabile" We will tell you about new album releases, new singles and E.P.s, new video’s, band information, tour dates and locations and anything else that we hear on the grapevine.

In my personal list of the best films i have seen in my life so far, "37°2 le matin" is sometimes placed in the top 10, sometimes below, but until now there are not enough films to replace it, even if it is now 15 years old. Für den frühen Abend waren Gewitter angesagt, aber der Himmel blieb blau und der Wind hatte nachgelassen " ~was für ein Anfang... Einfach feierbar. Betty ist und bleibt ein einzigartiges Buch. Es war ein langsamer Genuss hab länger gebraucht als sonst, was jedoch nicht gegen das Buch spricht.der Autor hat wirklich Talent seinen Set in a small Yorkshire town just after the Second World War, when austerity and food rationing is starting to bite hard, a group of local dignitaries plan to raise and slaughter an illegal pig for an exclusive, private function to celebrate the impending wedding of Princess Elizabeth to Phillip. The leads are mostly mis-cast and cannot sing a note(a fairly standard requirement in a musical) Only Sarah Lancashire comes out unscathed though her pantomime dame Maggie Smith wears thin after a while. Poor Reece Shearsmith is just not up to the job, far too weak. Adrian Scarborough plays his role like all others hamming it up and acting like he feels he is much better than he actually is. The weakest is the Mother, nothing like the character is written, supposed to be 84 and doddery (played famously by Liz Smith in the film), this performance does not work on any level. I went to university in 1989, so of course, like pretty everyone my age, I had a Betty Blue poster on my wall (along with The Big Blue and Blue Velvet and The Queen is Dead). And like most of my year, I fell in love with the film at one of the late night showings at Oxford's Phoenix Cinema. Writer-director Jean-Jacques Beineix's film follows the sad life of Betty and her lover Zorg. From the steamy beginning of their relationship to the bitter end, we share in their heartache. This story has tragedy written all over it. Alongside this runs the story of timid chiropodist Gilbert (Reece Shearsmith) and his social-climbing wife Joyce (Sarah Lancashire), who are thwarted in their efforts to get a foothold on the town’s social ladder and decide to steal the pig as an act of revenge (and hunger!). Philippe Djian was born in Paris, France, in June 1949. After graduation from École supérieure de journalisme in Paris, he travelled to South America for a reportage and upon his return to France worked in different odd jobs for several years. Only his third novel Betty Blue ( 37°2 le matin) established the writer’s fame. After that he brought out more novels and short story collections in short intervals. Among those later works Unforgivable ( Impardonnables: 2009) and Consequences ( Incidences: 2010) have been translated into English. Love Song (2013) and Chéri-Chéri (2014) are his latest published works. Boris Djian lives in Biarritz, France.
