About this deal

The popular brand has been delighting chocolate lovers since 1962. It’s usually consumed as a “refreshing indulgence” for the perfect ending to any evening. Bitesize – Plain chocolate with mint fondant filling, similar in appearance to original Munchies. Originally known as Mintola, then renamed Mint Munchies in 1995, [4] before being brought under the After Eight brand in 2006. [5] [6] After Eight is an iconic chocolate-covered mint that has been around since the 1960s. But recently Nestle has shaken things up by launching limited edition After Eight Orange & Mint and After Eight Mojito & Mint.

The mixture of flavours was considered well balanced; the orange isn't too strong and it's not too minty either. Debbie Bowen, Senior Brand Manager for After Eight said: " After Eight has had a place at the nation's dinner tables for sixty years now, and as we reach our landmark birthday, love for the brand remains as strong as ever. For the band formerly known as Aftereight, see Capital Lights. For the Taco album, see After Eight (album).Mint & Blood Orange – This variation on the thin mints was a special edition for Summer 2011. The flavour was reintroduced as Orange Mint in Autumn 2022. While testing the different flavours of After Eight mints we noticed they all came in the same style of sleeve wrapper.

One volunteer referred to the combination as a 'refreshing and delicious new twist on the classic flavour.' We had 13 taste testers try the After Eight mints. Most of them admitted to having a sweet tooth and were fans of After Eight going into the tests. IMPORTANT: YOUNG CHILDREN (LESS THAN 4 YEARS) HAVE LIMITED CHEWING ABILITY AND COULD CHOKE ON SMALL SWEETS. Surprisingly, we had a tie between Orange & Mint and Classic Mint After Eight. Sadly few were fans of Mojito & Mint. Easter bunny – During Easter time Nestlé releases an After Eight Dark Chocolate Easter Bunny. It does not have a mint filling but is made from peppermint flavoured chocolate and comes in the well known After Eight green wrappingBelieve it or not, there's a Guinness World Record for eating the most After Eights in one minute without using your hands. After Eights were originally made from dairy-free dark chocolate. In 2002, however, Nestlé started adding butterfat to After Eights made at certain production facilities so as to increase resistance to chocolate bloom. This practice expanded to all production facilities in 2009. Nestlé has also made special editions of After Eights, including orange After Eights and milk chocolate After Eights. Let’s find out if this mint chocolate confectionery is gluten-free. Last updated: December 24, 2021

If you fancy competing against your loved ones this Christmas, you'll need to keep all the After Eight mints in their wrappers, but you can lay them out in front of you on a table. After Eight are dark mint thins filled with peppermint flavoured fondant cream in a 300 g box made with added Glucose Syrup ( from Wheat and/or Corn). Even though the glucose syrup may come from wheat, the Celiac Foundation states that due to the extensive processing to create the syrup, this ingredient can be considered gluten free. However; multiple commenters mentioned having reactions to After Eights, so if you have a gluten allergy or Celiac Disease, these may not be safe for you.

The After Eights were rated on their aroma (20%), texture (10%) and most importantly their taste (70%). After Eight Mint Chocolate Thins, often referred to as simply After Eights, are a brand of mint chocolate covered sugar confectionery. They were created by Rowntree Company Limited in the UK in 1962 and have been manufactured by Nestlé since its acquisition of Rowntree in 1988. [1]

The mints were originally manufactured at Rowntree's York factory, before production transferred to Castleford, West Yorkshire, in 1970. For the UK market they are now manufactured in Halifax following Nestlé's closure of the Castleford factory in 2012. However on the limited edition 2020 casing it states "made in Germany, with sugar not solely of German origin". "More than 1bn After Eights, thin fondant mints, are made every year in the Castleford factory scheduled for closure in 2012 by the Switzerland-based confectionery giant." [2] After Eights re-invented for a new generation". utalkmarketing.com. 27 September 2007. Archived from the original on 3 September 2015 . Retrieved 3 September 2015. Fans have long been asking us for a more formal gifting box, and we are thrilled to be able to bring our brand new Mint Collection to the market this year. When we tested the collection with consumers, the response was incredible, so we're confident it will be a huge hit with mint chocolate lovers everywhere! Each volunteer took part in the test in a private room and was given water and water biscuits to cleanse their palate between samples. Biscuits – The newest addition to the After Eight family, these combine dark chocolate with mint in a biscuit.
