Wealth, good looks, a beautiful wife and children and, in the chaotic world of British politics, a real chance of becoming Prime Minister.

But things don’t go to plan and Ray is soon on the run again and there is only one person he can trust. Even though Relentless was produced several years ago and still maintains its place, in my mind, as Simon Kernick’s top work, he has shown a constant improvement in his story telling ability.

Despite interest from a number of publishers Kernick was unable to secure a deal, so he joined the sales force of the specialist IT and Business Consultancy Metaskil plc in Aldermaston, Berkshire in 1998 where he remained until he secured his first book deal (The Business of Dying) in September 2001. After graduating from college at the age of 19 from Gillotts School, he started working as the assistant plant and transport manager at a local company of civil engineers. I had the honour of being sent a proof copy,it is a absolutely brilliant action packed thrill ride that is guaranteed to please his army of loyal readers. It took me about 10 minutes to read and finished at 47%, with the rest of the file being a preview of the new book.

I find his writing consistently good with strong characters, well thought out plots and excellently paced stories. That said the new novel based on the first chapter looks like it could be one of Kernick's best yet. The incarceration has forced his separation from another disgraced ex-cop Tina Boyd who is working as a private investigator since being kicked out of the force. Kernick had a passion for crime fiction writing from a young age and produced many short stories during his time at polytechnic. His fourth book, A Good Day to Die, sold 15,000 copies, and his next book, Relentless, sold over 50,000 copies. Most of Simon Kernick’s novels are stand alone adventures, but his beginnings in the writing world were accomplished on the back of an interesting character, who is the protagonist in three of his novels. Dennis takes a new case while finding out his victims were not drug dealers but actually two custom officers and an accountant.
