The solid, high quality oak used in their construction gives our pergolas strength, durability and beauty. Supplied untreated, you are free to apply any wood stains or preservatives to the oak that you like, or you can leave the pergola untreated for the oak to turn the classic weathered silver look over a number of years.
The redwood posts are supplied at 2.7m long to give the customer the option to concrete them into the ground, finishing the structure at 2.3m high, or the posts can be cut down to 2.3m for it to be free-standing structure. A pergola can be used to link buildings or can extend from a door into an open garden. Please note that the advertised size is the length of the top rafters, the first dimension is for six runners on top and the second dimension is for two main beams. To calculate the footprint between the inner edges of the uprights you need to take 1m off the longest dimension and 86cm from the shortest dimension. a) drill metal rods (a centimetre or half an inch or so in diameter) into your base, drill into the bottom of the posts and rest them onto the protruding metal bar. Oak, being extremely hard-celled, will quite happily sit on top of these metal rods so you can leave around a half an inch gap under the posts to keep them off the ground. Please note: The product colours shown are representative only and may differ on the actual product due to natural variations in the timber used.
