Stage 2 is a vessel holding ion exchange resin. Ion exchange resin is a bead-like substance made from an organic polymer substrate.

Mains water contains impurities and salts which leave spots and smears on the paint after washing. Some of this will be due to scale caused by Calcium and Manganese. A water softener will remove Calcium and Magnesium and therefore preventing scale formation. However, some impurities remain and if you want a spot and smear-free finish on your paintwork then our specifically designed car wash filter is the best for this. The AquaHouse DI Car Wash water filter leaves your car with no water marks or streaks when used to rinse after cleaning. Using a high quality filtration resin the AquaHouse DI filter removes hardness minerals and particles from the water which would otherwise leave watermarks after drying. The filter may be laid on the ground however it is best suspended vertically with water in at the bottom The issue’s always been that washing your car will always leave some marks. If you don’t leave your car to dry sufficiently after giving it a wash, then it’ll leave irksome water spots. Still, even if you try hard enough to dry it as thoroughly as you can with a towel, you might still be able to see some swirl marks. Or worse, you may even end up leaving behind scratches, engraved onto the paintwork.

There is no scale buildup and it has a maximum pressure of 90 psi. It weighs 51 pounds and has a flow rate of 15 GPM. After watching a couple of YouTube videos on this filter, I decided to invest in one. Used it for the first time today and it’s everything it says it is. I washed then rinsed my car as usual, then completed a final, filtered water rinse and left my car to dry in the sun. I was a little sceptical as to what the results would be, but I needn’t have worried. Amazingly clear results on the paintwork and glass. Highly recommended!

In the deionization process, regular water is passed through a series of resin beds. The resins can be cation (carries positive charge) or anion (carries negative charge). The solid particle being minerals tends to get attracted toward the charged resins and gets trapped, while pure water flows away. Various types of deionization processes are offered by water systems. We’ve all had to swiftly run round our cars to dry them before water spots form, which are very hard to remove and can badly affect paintwork. And try as you might, washing and drying will cause swirl marks and light surface scratching. Tap the filter on the ground a couple of times when refilling as this will enable resin to settle down, and you can fill it right to the top (just allow enough for the internal head to seat properly). You may have a little resin left over. It comes with a four-foot hose, polypropylene cam lever, a cap, and a travel plug. Also included is a digital TDS meter. The filter can be connected to your hosepipe. As the media has a finite life, we suggest using it for a final rinse, though you can use it for the whole car washing process. The media will produce up to 700L of water before it needs replacing (depending on local water hardness) and a final rinse usually uses around 10 litres of water.Using deionized water will prevent swirls and scratches and prepares your vehicle for a clear coat for waxing or sealants. Inside the car, the deionized water is useful for cleaning electronics and tends to clean upholstery better as it is not likely to leave water stains or marks. For those looking to invest that reside in areas with particularly hard level of water there is also a 30ppm De-Ionising Walter Filter (also coming in a 12 Inch or 30 Inch option) which can assist in prolonging the life in the filter. Alternatively a 30ppm can also be used in-line with a 0ppm filter.
