About this deal

The '90s were an interesting time in comics, with the stories trying to reflect the discontent that the decade as a whole was known for. So, someone like Wonder Woman as we knew her, clothed in the colors of the American flag and standing up for all that was good, wasn't considered cool. That's why, like Batman and Superman, Wonder Woman got a questionable makeover during this period that has certainly been remembered, albeit not fondly. Obviously of all the states they could skip they're skipping Italy, but I hope I'll be able to see them in Berlin! Added some harmony to the vocals of the second chorus but it's not greatly represented in midi, anyway and it's the first sound you hear hahs

Mike Deodato's Wonder Woman: long legs, tiny waist, gravity-defying breasts, and of course a thong. Must be the '90s. The history of Wonder Girl is a confusing one, but initially Diana was the first Wonder Girl. Makes sense — before Wonder Woman she would have been Wonder Girl, right? But eventually Wonder Girl became a mantle for other women in DC so it became weird trying to distinguish them, especially since in some issues Wonder Woman would interact with younger versions of herself. Nowadays, Wonder Girl is pretty much totally separate from Diana, but we still have to look at the original outfit. Should the grown Wonder Woman have kept her childhood duds? While William Messner-Loebs story arcs are engaging and often well written -- although a Boston mafia war plot is a bizarre fit for Wonder Woman -- it's the Deodato art that sells the book and is ultimately what led me to try it out. I've heard so much about this era over the years -- some of it positive, much of it negative -- that I finally had to judge it for myself. How do I rate it? Certainly not in the upper echelon of Wonder Woman stories, but it's still a jaunty and exciting yarn. It's solid '90s comics, and overall quite fun. My opinions on the art are more complicated. The adolescent comic book fanboy that still resides somewhere in the darkest nether-regions of my soul would blush at Deodato's art, but still enjoy it. The adult comic book reader I've become finds the overly sexualized style both problematic and tiresome, but also still appreciates Deodato's talent for drawing exciting superhero action adventure. Besides the elements of '90s excess, the art is compelling and energetic. It was a great time to get into DGD, too! What with the instrumentals, the AC remaster and Blood Wolf all releasing in 2019! Oh, and there's another LP coming out this year!

Also, he stated he mainly focuses on the sounds of the words and certainly he does a great job at that, his lyrics usually sound really cool. Sad to hear they're breaking up, though :/ They should do a European tour, they're big enough to do that for a final tour at least! The same thing happened with a band I used to play a lot called The Afterimage and they never got big enough to tour outside of the Canada/US but a band called The Parallel I've just discovered have a really similar sound so I'm trying to get them here somehow.Agreed, Mothership as a whole is fantastic: it's got the poppy stuff, the funky stuff, the super heavy stuff...basically everything in theor repertoire is there!

I heard them before it, but I think Mars Volta accrued a decent following after they were on one of the Guitar Hero games. Was supposed to be recording a couple weeks ago but my friend who mostly produces pop and electronic tunes really wanted to give some heavier stuff a go but made me buy an input! Haha Also usually use a combo amp so had to buy a distortion pedal. Tilian's a beast. As a singer with a high-pitched voice myself I was in disbelief when I saw the first live video. It took a lot of time but now I can sing some of their tunes quite confidently 😄Finally Tides of Man are also playing here this year! I only recently heard of them from the Bandsintown app (great app if youre a regular gig goer btw) suggesting me them, then I heard an old song and was like "hold on a second... I know that voice and face!". Haha And for the post-hardcore part, I put "new" in quotation marks cause I didn't know how to express what I meant 😅 Did you ever listen to Chiodos? They still get a lot of plays from me for how great 'The Bone Palace Ballet' was. Very mixed with a classical sort of sound. Though, songs like "All Nereid's Beware" from their first album are really fun to sing along to. I think the best proof of his ability is the Tree City Sessions live-in-studio album, it's crazy how he can sing Jonny's and Kurt's song with practically zero effort even in their highest points.

Honestly, I've mostly played Mothership a lot but Death of Strawberry has also been on a playlist of mine. I've been meaning to get the whole discography tbh! Really love the chords they use and the fast paced and well complimenting vocal melodies of Mothership tbh. Very well written.I've heard of Chiodos but I never liked them nor their singer to be honest 😅 it's a shame too cause he's also collaborated with The Sounds Of Animals Fighting, one of the craziest act I've ever listened to, but I just can't seem to enjoy his voice. Weird cause I like a lot of high-pitched singers, but usually I either like them a lot or they annoy me 😅 Everything you've ever heard about '90s comics is true. The obscenely large muscles, the balloon breasts, and the massive guns. The excessive amount of pouches on everybody's clothing. The gratuitous, leering obsession with the female form. Everything, and I mean everything, was Extreme!!!! It's all true, which is partly why I drifted from comics for a while during the decade.
