The Sceptre’s Battery Capacity LED clearly shows current battery charge and when it’s time to recharge the 1400mAh battery via microUSB. E-liquid level not visible with pod installed – also the cute white LED of the original which lit up the pod compartment is not present on this version. One of the issues with the original Sceptre that me and many others struggled with was the coil quality. It is easy to adjust the airflow setting with the slide switch although the text on the pod is a bit small to read easily. A manual fire button is provided but this device also has an auto draw system meaning you can simply inhale on the mouthpiece and the device will fire.

If your Innokin Sceptre is gurgling, the most likely reason is that you’re using too much air pressure when vaping with the device. That’s particularly likely to happen if you’re using the 1.2-ohm mouth-to-lung coil and have the airflow dial turned to the MTL setting. If you puff harder in an attempt to get bigger clouds out of the device, you’ll overwhelm the pod’s capacity to manage airflow and will draw excess e-liquid into the atomizer coil assembly and chimney. The e-liquid caught in the pod’s chimney creates a gurgling sound and may even enter your mouth if you continue puffing too firmly. Always puff gently when using the Innokin Sceptre. If you’re not happy with the device’s vapour production, you can increase the wattage, increase the airflow or switch to the 0.5-ohm coil. The Sceptre is compatible with the 0.5ohm RDL S coil, the 0.65ohm MTL S coils, and the 1.2ohm MTL S coil. I've used 80VG juice with the rdl coils and was very pleased with flavour and clouds. I prefer mtl though. I find 50/50 juice works best for that.You can pretty much close off the airflow completely. There is a slight airflow – enough to trigger to auto draw fire but that is about it. Sadly the instructions do not mention any protections or what the mod will display in the case of a fault. How To Charge The Battery The ability to replace just the coil makes this cheaper to run – the coils are not expensive to buy either To fill the pod, remove the silicone plug that’s on its side. The filling hole is large enough to accommodate every style of nozzle, and even most glass droppers.

It won’t replace a dedicated sub ohm tank by any means – but is still a handy way of using higher VG liquid when out and about – save you buying separate bottles of liquid for sub ohm and pod devices.

I found in the standard power mode this did perform well but felt like it needed slightly more “ ooomph“. Connect the microUSB port to a quality power supply and ensure the device is charged. The Sceptre can be turned on by pressing the main firing button 3 times rapidly.

It is awkward to press when vaping as you have to hold the device with the mouthpiece horizontal, you also cannot see the LED indicators when vaping.I have to admit I also had 2 prototype versions a few months ago in the blue – and to be honest I don’t think much has changed from them to the new versions I have now. Innokin Sceptre Mod Performance wise, flavour is excellent & surprisingly goods clouds. As a comparison, if you've used the Zlide tank the Sceptre easily beats it.
