About this deal

Late in the US line, Walmart stores received exclusive Unicron toys that came with the Air Military Mini-Con Team in a bubble attached to the top of the box. This set was sold for the normal retail price of Unicron… hey, free Mini-Cons! When I was a kid, my friend James Coleman assured us that he had a figure of Unicron, the baddie robot planet from The Transformers: The Movie– but it was up in his attic, and he couldn’t bring it down to show us because it was too big. We all thought he might have been a bit of a lying bastard, but his dad was minted, his house was massive, and maybe, just maybe, there really was a great big Unicron toy in 1986… It was likely that these phrases were recorded during the same studio session in August of 1985 where Welles performed the rest of his movie dialogue. With Welles frail and wheelchair-bound, movie director Nelson Shin was at first concerned over the quality of the voice performance, and employed several post-production audio adjustments to give the Unicron voice the booming presence he wanted. Seventy years old at that time, it was to be Welle’s final film role. He passed away on October 10th 1985, several months before the release of the animated film. Speaking to his biographer Barbara Leaming shortly before his death, Welles did comment on the role… For a time… I considered sparing your wretched bank account. But now, you shall witness… ITS WITHDRAWAL!" He insults pitiful lesser beings through his articulated mouth and grins malevolently with his movable teeth.

Cower in fear as you come face to face with the mighty Unicron in his intimidating robot mode, standing at over 27” tall. Forest Lee and Dan Khanna( w),Forest Lee( p). Transformers: Cybertron: Balancing Act,vol.1,no.1(April 2007).IDW Publishing. The Lord of Chaos. The Planet Eater. The Chaos Bringer. Unicron stands alone as the most menacing figure in Transformers lore, capable of devouring entire worlds and civilizations. He debuted in the 1986 film Transformers: The Movie and his insatiable appetite nearly brought the entire universe to its knees. Unicron would appear in Transformers Armada, voiced by Mark Acheson. In episode 23, several of the human allies discover Sideways within their computers, and attempt to stop him, but not before learning that his accomplice was Unicron within the mainframe acting as a failsafe. [21] The final season depicts Unicron as the main antagonist. Called the Unicron Battles, the Transformers Earth groups return to Cybertron. The humans learn Unicron had made the Minicons to take control of Cybertron, but the Minicons revolted and become part of the Transformers' own civil war. [22] Of the ten phrases recorded, six are stored in the hand-made bespoke circuitry contained within the figure’s torso (it is unknown which six). The audio features and lighting effects ended up being prohibitively expensive, and were seemingly a large factor in the eventual cancellation of the toy. The figure was never mass produced or released, but over the years, Transformers fans did get some opportunities to see the figure firsthand.Following Unicron's consumption of Cybertron's two moons, Galvatron obtains the Matrix from Ultra Magnus, believing he can use it to bring Unicron under his control. Attempting to open the Matrix to intimidate Unicron, Galvatron only prompts his transformation into robot mode and is swallowed by the planet-eater. Unicron lays waste to Cybertron, halted briefly when the young Autobot rookie, Hot Rod, crashes a Quintesson spacecraft through his eye. [11] Finding Hot Rod inside Unicron's body, Galvatron suggests an alliance against their common enemy. However, Unicron inflicts his mental torture upon Galvatron, forcing him to fight Hot Rod. Hot Rod seizes the Matrix from Galvatron during the fight and becomes Rodimus Prime. Rodimus throws Galvatron into space, freeing him from Unicron's mind-control. Rodimus opens the Matrix within Unicron, destroying his body, leaving only his head, which becomes a moon of Cybertron. Do they even really need to fight him? With all that gold plastic he'll probably just crumble to bits if Optimus so much as points at him forcefully. In the Transformers: Prime storyline, Unicron (voiced by John Noble) is the source of Dark Energon, a poisonous and corruptive form of Energon with the ability to revive the dead - albeit in a mindless, zombie-like "Terrorcon" state - also known by the name "the blood of Unicron". Unicron is believed to represent the Anti-Spark (most likely a counterpart of the AllSpark). [24] Publication history [ edit ] Fun Publications [ edit ] https://www.collecticon.org/2010/12/unicron-the-mythical-unicorn-further-unreleased-g1-chaosbringer-information-and-pics Unicron appears in the sequel series Transformers: Energon, set 10 years after the Unicron Battles. [23] The autobots successfully destroy Unicron, but Unicron manages to place his consciousness within Megatron. In the final episode, Megatron is corrupted by Unicron, leading to another confrontation with Optimus Supreme. Around this time, Primus, Unicron's sibling, creates an energon sun and attempts trap Unicron's soul with it. Both he and Megatron are destroyed for good, and the energon sun recreates Alpha's planets that were destroyed long ago. [23] Aligned continuity [ edit ] His iconic planet-eating jaws are geared to open so the vicious Planet Eater can devour unassuming worlds. At over 27 inches tall in robot mode, 30 inches wide in planet mode, and weighing 16 pounds including his stand, War for Cybertron Trilogy Unicron is the biggest Transformers figure to date, overthrowing Titans Return Fortress Maximus. Although Unicron himself does not appear again, his origin in the animated series is later revealed. Unicron was created near the beginning of the universe by the diminutive genius known as Primacron, who intended for him to devour all life in the universe, leaving a blank slate that Primacron could use as he saw fit. However, Unicron turned upon Primacron, deciding that he would rule the universe and subsequently set out to achieve that goal. [20] Unicron trilogy [ edit ]

The original intent for the gun was for it to be an infra-red trigger that could fire off the light and sound electronics within the Unicron figure itself. Electronics that would light up the eyes and parts of the planet shell, but also contained some pretty special audio… With his articulated fingers, he clutches the air menacingly and makes fists full of his infinite fury.
