About this deal

In ‘Twisted Games’ we read the story of Bridget and Rhys. Bridget is a princess, trying to live a normal life and Rhys is her very arrogant and harsh bodyguard. From the moment Bridget and Rhys meet there is a lot of chemistry between these two. But since they really don’t like each other, they both deny it and don’t act on it. But some things you just can’t deny. And when Bridget’s life is turned upside down, Rhys is the one who is by her side through everything. But being a princess isn’t a fairytale, and Bridget’s life isn’t her own.

From the moment I started reading ‘Twisted Games’ I was hooked and I kept on reading way past my bedtime. I simple loved everything about this book and the two main characters Bridget and Rhys. They are so totally different, but I was rooting for them from the start. And I just love the Royal- bodyguard trope. It was so good! Well, I liked this better than I expected. Going in with lower expectation was definitely the right choice so I ended up liking this a bit better than the first book. Now, I was drinking my daily wheatgrass smoothie and eating toast in the kitchen like it was a normal day." stella has been neglected by her parents because they seem to value academic qualifications over creativity, which means not only are they unsupportive of stella but also make her feel inadequate because she hasn't achieved what her sister and parents themselves have (this one truly hit home because my daddy issues stem from the fact that my father cares more about a piece of paper - aka my grades over me but that's a story for another time sksksk).

bridget has no dignity lmao she’s basically rhys’ dog and it’s funny seeing her give herself up for him. mans literally made her crawl 😭 This alone already had me hooked and in love but the way it was executed… COMPLETE AND UTTER PERFECTION!!!!! Same with the 2nd book, it was kind of fast, I feel like people say its a slow-burn cuz its like over a couple of years but I wish instead of all the time jumps, we could see more of the anticipation, the angst and the tension building I feel like that would've made it much better. I didn't really like Rhys that much tbh like he was kind of boring, but like when he was with Bridget he was very whipped. They had a lot of cute moments together tho which I rlly liked and I loved how Bridget proves the sexist parliament guy wrong. Once again the smut in this series was kind of weird like one of the things Rhys says is "Remember in public you're my princess but in private you're my whore" and I just don't get why the guy's in this series gotta call the fmcs "thier" sluts or whores just whyyy, but other than that I liked the book I'm just not that big of a smut reader. The fake dating plot was fitting but there was too much going on. The stalking, the plot twist, the second plot line that came into the book at 80%, the overall social media drama.

Stoic, broody and arrogant bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: protect his clients at all costs and do not become emotionally involved. He has never once been tempted to break those rules… until her. Princess Bridget von Ascheberg. The thing that bothered me the most, however, wasn't the writing, it was the TIME JUMPS. This was insane. I felt like this book was just a bunch of one-shots (by that I'm not talking about the smut but rather emphasizing how uncoherent the story was, it felt like a collection of short stories about the protagonists) and absurdly huge time jumps in between. Often times, I found myself really enjoying the story and the progression of it and then boom, A THREE-MONTH TIME JUMP that provided nothing but gave the author a chance to move on with the next plot point without building any relationships between the characters. Twisted Love is my next favourite book. I personally feel that Alex was sometimes a bit too pushy. However, I love how all the couples in each book are different. Alex and Ava's story is complicated and was hard to follow at first. But the ending of the book was possibly the best ending of the series. the dirty talk is the only reason this book is not getting 1 star, because equal parts degradation and praise kink is my kryptonite 🥵 Everyone told me this would be the best one but I didn’t like it for some reason. I wasn’t expecting to like it tbh cuz Stella didn’t seem interesting in the other books. Also Christian was unnecessarily stalker ish i was not into him at all.

Christian is (not) jealous of a stuffed animal that stella’s followers say would be a better cuddle buddy (on an insta poll)

Theirs is a love twisted with secrets and tainted by lies…and when the truths are finally revealed, they could shatter everything. I know that this series is insanely popular and it has a huge fan following, RHYS AND BRIDGET ACT LIKE CHILDREN, argue with the wall. Sadly this is the end of the series. And what a journey is has been. Seeing all the characters in this book literally had me sobbing. Especially Alex being a total softie for his daughter 🥺 I'm going to miss all of them SO MUCH. I wish there was more variety (?) when it comes to the personalities of the guys. Everyone except for Josh (and Rhys sometimes) was a “tough and broody” guy. They were all really dominant and possessive (personally i don’t like possessive guys, but if that rows your boat, this is a good series for that). I do wish one of guys weren’t dominant just so it was something different, but even then, the books were enjoyable. She’s the object of his darkest desires, the only puzzle he can’t solve. And when the opportunity to get closer to her arises, he breaks his own rules to offer her a deal she can’t refuse. A self-professed travel enthusiast, she loves incorporating beautiful destinations into her stories and will never say no to a good chai latte. Bridget von Ascheberg. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash. Bridget is my favorite from the friend group I think. And I definitely liked this book wayyyy more than i liked the first one, twisted love. Alex has performance anxiety,” Josh said without looking away from Jules. “It’s okay, dude. Happens to the best of us. Maybe you can invest in the development of a pill that’ll help with your problem. It’ll be like Viagra for kissers.”
