I only buy things I really need and have the criteria that they must be multi-functional and long-lasting. I have so far found that The People’s Poncho fits the bill. Camo ponchos are gaining popularity as a convenient, stylish, and functional item. They offer many features that make them great for a variety of settings and activities. Here are some things to consider when looking for the perfect camo poncho: It will be a thing of the past to protect your feet when hiking in inclement weather by wrapping them in plastic bags (they've all done it!). There are a variety of methods to dealing with rain while cycling, but I wanted to try the poncho approach. I began researching rain capes and ponchos hoping to find one that keep me dry and not make me look goofy. Imagining some products before they arrive, it is impossible to get that excited about them. Anything to do with wet weather is never top of my excitement list. Cycling is rarely as much fun in the rain. It also means I have to get wet to review the product as well, so I wasn’t too excited about a poncho. Definitely not my sort of cycling attire. My first test as you can see above was to line the inside of a cup with the poncho and fill it with water. I wanted to know if the water would seep through to the glass cup. After waiting for it to soak through it in fact kept the water from getting into the glass. The Zipster came in two sizes (S/M and M/L), but the Rover comes in three sizes (Short, Regular and Tall) so the fit is more precise. Short is for people under 5’5”, Regular is for 5’5” to 6’2”, and Tall is for 6’2” and above. I’m 5’4’ so I got the Short size, but I tried on Pier’s Regular for comparison: When it starts to rain in Beijing, you can expect to see an explosion of people carrying ponchos and umbrellas. The Regular Rover hits below my knees and covers my wrists. At 5’4″, I prefer the Short fit, but if you’re right in the middle of the height divide (5’5″) and aren’t sure which size to get, now you have an idea of how much smaller the Short is versus the Regular. Stylish and Hip –One of the reasons I wanted to try out this poncho was simply because it looks cool. It has a stylish look, and you’re guaranteed to get compliments while wearing it. Too many other ponchos and rain capes make you look like you’re wearing a trash bag. I won’t lie, I now get a little excited for rain so that I can wear this poncho while riding. I can honestly say that The People’s Poncho has become a firm favourite in my wet weather gear and will be sure to go on some adventures with me in the future. I haven’t tried it on my (clashing pink) Brompton yet, but will write a post on that when the time comes. There are obviously different needs when it comes to pedalling around. Front pouch with a water-resistant zipper that may be used to keep valuables and keys. It is recommended that you double bag your phone as well as other electrical equipment you have in the event of significant rain. Once again it performed great! It did its job perfectly. The claim of 100% waterproof held up. I had my doubts, but this poncho really will keep you bone dry with it on.
