About this deal

It’s a bit of a hassle to find the perfect spot in your house for it, to get the best possible speeds.

The Wi-Fi signal is really good – it’s a decent bit better than the 4G Hub, and provides good speeds, even throughout a large house. Most 4G and 5G home broadband routers will allow you to connect an external antenna. However, this functionality isn’t available on some devices like the Huawei AI Cube B900. It also isn’t possible to use an antenna with most Mi-Fi devices like the Huawei E5573bs-322. That means the Three 4G Plus Hub will be better able to take full advantage of Three’s 4G network (especially in areas with faster 4G+ connectivity), so assuming you live in such an area, your average speeds might more consistently be around 100Mbps, rather than 50Mbps. If you’re considering 4G home broadband on Three then you have two options – you can get either the Three 4G Hub, or the at times slightly more expensive Three 4G Plus Hub. Since we reviewed the regular 4G Hub a few months ago, it could also be that some upgrades were made to the 4G LTE network in our area, which contributed to the higher speeds. The recommended option for most people. Most effective in urban and sub-urban areas where there are multiple phone masts around you. Over the past year, 4G and 5G home broadband has increasingly become a viable alternative to receiving fixed home broadband through a phone line or cable. The Three 4G Hub is a 4G router sold by Three in the UK, bundled with a data plan. The device is a rebranded ZTE MF286D Wi-Fi router. If you’re using a 4G or 5G home broadband service such as Three’s HomeFi (Huawei B311), Three’s Huawei B535, Vodafone’s GigaCube or EE’s 4GEE Home, attaching an external antenna to your router can help to improve both the speed and reliability of your internet connection.

In this article, we’ll discuss how you can use an external antenna to improve your 4G or 5G home broadband service and signal. We’ll look at router compatibility and the key things you should think about when choosing an external antenna for your router. We’ll also present our recommended options if you’re looking to buy an external antenna for use in the UK. The Three 4G Hub has two antenna ports, which you can plug in external antennas, if you choose to do so. Most other core specs are similar though, with both routers supporting dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and up to 64 simultaneous device connections. In the UK, Three currently offers a choice of 4G home broadband routers: the regular 4G Hub and the newer 4G Plus Hub. Our 4G Plus Hub arrived in a Three branded box. Once you open it, the first thing you see is the router itself.
