The suspension is skillfully tuned, offering a supple ride that adeptly handles both mild, low-speed undulations and instills confidence at higher speeds. It proficiently soaks up the majority of rough bumps, shielding the rider from their jarring effects. Update the firmware using the DJI Ronin app by connecting the DJI RS 2 via Bluetooth. Do not disconnect the DJI Ronin app and DJI RS 2 during the update process. For the majority of the test, I added the focus servo, which was easy to fit. Just attach the gear band around the lens, then all the rods and attachments you need to fit the focus motor are in the box.

To explore and expand the various ways of operating RS 2 and RSC 2, we are excited to introduce the Tilta Ecosystem for DJI RS 2.While DJI RS 2 might look similar to its predecessor, there are some key design differences that you should be aware of. The two most notable DJI RS 2 upgrades are a 1.4-inch full-color touchscreen and a carbon-fiber construction. Carbon fiber not only decreases the overall device weight, it also allows for heavier payloads, up to 4.5 kg (10 lbs) tested. DJI RS 2 also has a more ergonomic overall look and feel, which rounds a gimbal that is lighter, supports heavier cameras, and is easy than ever to use. Just as the the DJI RS 2 is a successor to the Ronin-S, the RSC 2 is a successor to DJI’s Ronin-SC. The updated gimbal is constructed of steel and aluminum, which work to increase rigidity while reducing the overall weight of the unit compared to the Ronin-SC by 35%. It also has a smaller physical footprint with a folded size of 180mm x 190mm (7” x 7.5”) — roughly the size of an A5 sheet of paper.
If DJI RS 2 has a camera attached and is powered on while updating the firmware, make sure to protect the camera and lens as the motors will power off during the update. But if you’re using a small camera (like a Sony A7S III) you’re not likely to see any real-world differences between the two models. Adding a touchscreen was incredibly helpful. It means you don’t have to dive into the mobile app to make some of the changes and can more easily make adjustments in the field. It also shows off the current modes and settings, which can be helpful if you have multiple operators for the same gimbal as there were only LED lights available.RavenEye is the stand out feature of the Combo kit that I tested, it’s truly amazing, and the signal is just about as robust as they come. DJI has officially authorized Tilta with the development protocols for all the peripheral interfaces. All products have been carefully tested by the DJI engineering team as well as a series of test/development shoots to improve its design, operation, and durability.
