About this deal

If you find yourself replacing a decades-old vacuum, you might find that today’s vacuums sound like they’re less powerful than the vacuums of old. This is because the manufacturing or importing of vacuum cleaners above 900W was banned within the European Union in September 2017. Post-Brexit, cabinet minister Jacob Rees-Mogg has headed the campaign to remove this limitation, but as of yet, no progress has been made. Today’s vacuum cleaner market is very different from how it used to be in the 80s when Henry Hoovers first made waves. So, it’s expected that there’ll be a few questions about how well the product will perform in contemporary homes. After all, it’s pretty common to have floor finishes these days—and smooth wooden flooring can be hard to clean. The V15 Detect Absolute gets its name from one of its primary new features: a laser on the Slim Fluffy motorised head that’s designed for cleaning your hard floors. It lights up even tiny dust particles on your floor, so you know where you’ve been and where you still need to clean. Its High Torque and smaller motorised heads now have anti-tangle technology, to stop the roller brushes collecting hair and needing regular cleaning. Henry vacuums are one of their most popular products, easily distinguishable by the smiling face on the canister, with the hose acting as a nose. Cleaning accessories included Henry Hoovers were designed to clean floors, so the most logical surfaces to use the vacuums are floors in homes, offices, and similar areas. Still, most floors aren’t bare, and they come with paddings or finishings of some kind—like carpets or rugs. Therefore, it’s normal to wonder if you can use Henry Hoovers on your carpets.

The Henry vacuum uses bags to collect the dust and dirt but it is also possible to use the machine without them, although this will result in a slight loss of suction power. This is truly a great feature if you suddenly realise you have run out (or don’t want to pay for new ones!). litres dry dust bin capacity, which is a huge amount of space. Wet, the Charles holds 9 litres. An easy-to-operate switch goes between the two.

A brand you can trust…

Henry uses bags to collect the dust and debris. With a 9-litre capacity, you can vacuum for a long time before you need to empty the bag. Key specs – Dimensions (WDH): 250 x 256 x 1,249mm; Weight: 2.61kg; Bin capacity: 0.77l; Vacuum Type: Cordless handheld; Bagless: Yes; Vacuum power: Unknown Henry Hoover is a great all-rounder and can be used to clean both carpets and hard floors, and you can easily switch between the two thanks to Henry’s combi floor tool, where brushes are positioned down when cleaning hard floors and up when cleaning carpets.

Hard Floor Tool - The Hard Floor Tool’s special design (featuring fine bristles to the front and rear) delivers peak suction performance on all types of hard floor — laminate, tiles, vinyl and wood. It’s almost impossible to mistake a Henry Hoover for another appliance. After all, the familiar red smiling face is impossible to miss—even if you prefer to store your cleaning supplies under the stairs or in dark closets. However, do Henry Hoovers have powerful suction, or are the vacuums all aesthetics? The bigger the capacity of the vacuum cleaner, the more dust and dirt it can hold. With the likes of the Hetty Vacuum model, the capacity of the bag is higher than the capacity of the vacuum. This means you are unlikely to ever burst a bag by overfilling it. A good tip for those looking to save cash. It’s not nearly as heavy as you would think for all those extras. It isn’t expensive, it doesn’t make much noise. Alas, there is no choice. All of the Henry vacuum cleaners in the range are floor vacuums. That just means that they don’t stand upright, and that they roll around on the floor on wheels. You drag the vacuum along behind you while you use the hose.

The good news is that the lower suction is partly counteracted by the EcoBrush tool – at least for smaller cleaning jobs. This is a small tool with a brush for agitating hairs and dirt from carpets, which improves cleaning performance. It’s not suitable for cleaning large areas though. It has a useful hi/low feature which allows you to switch seamlessly between the more powerful 1,200w and a lower 600w mode. It’s a great way to manage your electricity use. For most jobs, 600w will be more than enough power to get the job done, but occasionally, for really stubborn tasks, you might want to switch up to the more powerful 1,200w. This allows you to do just that. In the light of recent European legislation, though, Numatic have released a less powerful 620w model, but they’ve put in a huge effort to tune this up so despite the power drop you still get excellent performance – capable of meeting any job.
